When I realised mainstream school wasn’t for me I thought I had come to a dead end in my education. I struggled coping with being in that type of structured environment and this resulted in me experiencing a series of difficult situations. The only option was for me to leave.
As I was under 16 I had to be in some form of education. I was put into the care of educla. I was reluctant to go at first as I was worried it would be a repeat of mainstream. It was the total opposite. From the day I walked in to the day I completed my education I felt secure and supported. I made friends with people who had similar experiences and built a trusting relationship with the staff. I always knew that there was someone there to talk to.
With the help from the staff I was able to secure work experience on a farm which has led to me being accepted on an apprenticeship working with animals which is something that I have always wanted to do.
I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and I truly feel like if I hadn’t gone through the educla system I would not be where I am today.
I have many happy memories from my time at educla and the staff still support me and show interest in my progress to this day.

At 14, I felt myself and education were completely incompatible. Since moving up to secondary school, I had battled crippling anxiety attacks that arose almost daily, often far before I even arrived at school; I felt uncomfortable, unsafe and unconfident in the one environment we are told is intended to encourage the opposite of those feelings, one hand would be enough to tally the amount of times I actually felt that in secondary school. After years of feeling completely unhappy in school and finding every possible way to avoid attending, I could no longer do it and stopped attending full stop. This is where Educla stepped in; they provided me a comfortable, safe space to regain the confidence that had been completely shattered by mainstream education and the lack of professional support provided to students. Despite attending mainstream education for a total of two days in year 10 and 11 and struggling through the COVID pandemic, I passed the necessary GCSE exams to advance to sixth form and for this I have to thank Educla and the educational and personal support they provided in the most challenging time of my life.
Since then I have not been without my struggles, but I am now in my first year of study for a BA in English Literature and American Studies at the University of Manchester, becoming, hopefully, the first of many Educla students to attend university. Thank you Educla, I don't think I would be where I am without the time I spent there. -

Understanding staff
It is so wonderful to know that Becky and her team have such an invested interest in the way they approach their teaching. They are fantastic at understanding what is causing a child’s behaviours or struggles and ensure strategies are in place to help each individual. The support and communication between educator and parent is fantastic and you can see the genuine care and desire to see the children succeed and grow. Fabulous and refreshing to know 😄

The 11+ by Becky
Initially I was looking for a tutor to talk my son through what the 11+ would look like, to save him going in cold,
With Becky I got a lot more.
from the beginning she explained that she would be open and honest, and she was.
She praised the the parts that he was good at and came to me with a plan and resources for that parts that needed improvement.
Becky provided a full package above and beyond the paid time.
The result... today my son was offered a provisional place after passing his 11+
Thank you so much Becky -

"Judes teaching styles are a breath of fresh air, each session is interesting, adaptive and fun keeping the child engaged at all times. She has helped my child's confidence grow from strength to strength and has achieved a great deal in a short amount of time. My child looks forward to every session and continues to improve in an area that they found very difficult before. We couldn't ask for more - thank you."

Testimonial #5
We are a 6 bedded residential children's home in the north west, and we provide inhouse education for the young people for a variety of different reasons.
Some of the young people that arrive at the home have sadly not been in education for long periods of time.
Jude and her team have been working with us for the past few months. Jude is extremely focused and creative in the way she and her team work with the young people who are placed with us, she engages them extremely well, and the young people appear to enjoy the education provided, which is not easy to achieve. The young people speak highly of Jude and her team, and look forward to education.
Jude has created a breakfast club at the home, to motivate the young people to get up for education and has succeeded with this.
Jude and her team tailor the education to the individual children's needs and abilities
They focus on the achievement and positives regardless of how small they are.
They show great empathy and patience with the young people.
The young people enjoy the education they are receiving and Jude and team are very creative in delivery and make it fun as well as meeting educational targets.
I would not hesitate to recommend Jude/team.

Teacher
Jude offered engaging and 'hands on' experiences and activities that allowed a child to develop and understand himself. The child is now able to display a range of feelings and relate these to their own personal experiences, past and present. They can now see themselves in a positive way, being aware of and sharing their talents and interests. I can not rate Jude's impact on this child's personal and emotional development highly enough. She has really made a difference to the child's outlook on himself and life.

Jude worked with a young person in our care who had been out of education for a long time and had very low motivation to complete any educational work. As it was coming to exam time we needed more support to help the young person with preparation and Jude was great; she motivated, engaged and encouraged them, adapting plans and ideas to make sure they got something from the session. Extremely professional yet able to relate to the young person, their gaps, needs and level of understanding, I would definitely recommend using her service and look forward to working with her in the future.

Appleby Primary School
I have worked with Jude, from Educla, with a child in our school, for a couple of years. Jude is always punctual, whether working with the child at home or at school. She is very approachable and has a quiet manner, which works well with the child that we need the support for. Jude liaised with school, to link her home tutoring, to the school curriculum requirements. Jude always provides a detailed report to enable me to keep track of the support.
