  Sake Training in Queensland!

Romana, is an excellent sake ambassador and teacher, I’m privileged to have studied under her guidance. I especially appreciated the way that she tailored the delivery of the course material to acknowledge and build on my existing knowledge and emphasise opportunities to develop my practical skills. This is the domain in which I gained the most value and experienced significant tangible improvement throughout the course.

  Unmatched Passion

I was recommended to reach out to Sandra by a renowned Japanese restaurant, when mentioning I'd like to learn more about and work with Sake. Sandra has been a passionate mentor and role model, helping me to grow my hospitality skillset further. I'm now able to confidentiality and proudly serve Sake to my guests and share the love and knowledge that Sandra has put forward to me. I can highly recommend her for the journey to become a Certified Sake Sommelier.

My partner and I were lucky enough to be invited by Sandra to an exclusive Sake Truffle Omasake last week. We had the unique experience of having Sake Master Sandra share her knowledge with us about pairing Sake with delicious food. The menu was created by ex nobu Chef Ivan, bringing elements of many different cultures and years of experience to the table. The dishes were a perfect blend of art and umami. My partner does not eat seafood and enjoyed 4 seafood dishes prepared by Chef Ivan, notably paired perfectly with Sake by Sandra. The location was lovely, romantic, classy and the night itself memorable and fun. We were very impressed and look forward to our next experience.

A Fun and Insightful Introduction to Sake by Guy

I recently attended Guy's sake course and had such a fantastic experience! Guy is incredibly knowledgeable about sake – from its history and brewing process to tasting techniques and food pairings, he explained everything with clarity and passion. What made the class even more enjoyable was how friendly and relaxed the atmosphere was.

It didn’t feel like a lecture at all – more like hanging out with friends and learning something fascinating along the way. I had so much fun tasting a wide variety of sake and meeting new people who shared the same curiosity.

Highly recommend this class to anyone interested in sake, whether you’re a total beginner or already a fan!

  In depth course for beginners

Guy made me want to leave the safety of drinking wines and whiskey and learn more about how to appreciate and approach sake. I left the day mulling over processes that goes into the making of Sake, what rice grains to use, how to ferment and blend, what tastes I'd like to have for my Sake and how beautiful the process is to see. The course was much more than I expected and I enjoyed the journey that Guy took us on. I enjoyed and endorsed it with great enthusiasm.

Highly Recommended for Sake Enthusiasts and Business Owners

I reached out to the Sake Sommelier Academy to find a sommelier who could review the sake from Miyagi that I had recently introduced to South Australian customers. They connected me with Sandra, and I decided to take her sake sommelier course. At a time when I was working to get my online shop noticed, the course felt like a practical step to deepen my expertise and grow my business.

I’m so glad I took the course! Although my native language is Japanese and the course material was in English, I found it straightforward and engaging, thanks to Sandra's thoughtful and well-structured approach. The experience was fantastic and gave me a fresh perspective on my business. It helped me move past a phase of uncertainty, leaving me with a clearer direction and renewed confidence for the future.

Highly Recommend the Sake Sommelier Course with Sandra

I took the sake sommelier course with Sandra and it was definitely worth it. I learned a lot about sake such as the different styles, the different aromas in sake and how temperature affects those aromas. We also talked about how to pair sake with food which I found very interesting and enjoyable. I highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning about sake.

Fantastic insight into the wonderful world of Sake!

This is the second course I have completed with Sandra on my Sake journey. I found that the information was easy to understand and that Sandra has a great way of making students understand how to give tasting feedback with confidence. I went in thinking I don’t know dry from sweet and came out the other end knowing it and then telling others about it too! Highly recommend for people wanting that in depth knowledge of sake! I look forward to doing the next level!

  Certified Sake Sommelier Course Review

The course was very engaging and allowed to deepen my knowledge of sake brewing and the importance of having good sake service. Sandra really brought to life the abundance that Japanese Sake has to offer. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact we got to taste 12 different sakes which allowed me to sharpen my palate and try out different sake styles.

(Translated by Google) Having been in the wine and service industry for many years, I have a greater understanding of the story behind sake after participating in the course. "Although the course is explained in English," the discussion course is not too difficult to understand, and the content is very practical and more relevant. Life and work needs. Lecturer Sandra explained clearly and in simple terms, from sake production, style, storage, the story of the wine maker and how to recommend and introduce sake, which triggered a lot of interesting sharing and discussion in the class. During the course, you can feel the teacher’s understanding of sake. A very interesting and practical sake course that I highly recommend for my hobby and passion.

  Sake Course Feedback

  Hi Sandra,

It was pleasure taking your course in person in Sydney at the end of July. Even though I felt 2 days course was a bit short, it was a great opportunity to take your physical course after taking your online course back in May because the contents that we learned on that day was in-depth and informative. Especially, we were able to try a wide range of sake in the physical class and that helped students a lot to learn about differences among each sake.
I will definitely keep on learning about sake and will see you somewhere for sure at a sake event in future. Thank you very much Sandra.

  Dear Sandra,
I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible experience I had during the Certified Sake Sommelier course.
From the very first class, I was captivated by the wealth of knowledge and passion that you brought to the table.
The course content was meticulously designed, covering every aspect of sake, not only from its history to the production methods; but also showing us how to evaluate the intricacies of tasting based on each of our roots, cultures, and backgrounds.
You also taught us the right sake etiquette and this really strengthened the bonds among the students. I especially loved the practical exercises that allowed us to taste and compare various sakes, which significantly deepened my understanding of this beautiful and complex beverage.
The support and engagement from you were genuinely commendable. Your personal experiences enriched the learning journey for all of us. The learning resources provided before the class commenced were also incredibly valuable, and I still refer back to them regularly.

In-depth sake course with the best teacher I ever had in the beverage industry. So passionate.

I would like to thank you for the amazing experience, I had on Sunday and Monday. It was the most amazing beverage couse product, I have followed so far in my carrier and I have been in the industry for more than 40 years.
It was innovative, well presented and passionate. It made the group feel special and your enthusiasm and energy made it even more special.
The content of the course was well detailed, with theory and tasting sessions with surprise curriculum by taking the group to extra technical presentation of sake and food matching to restaurant after the course in the evening. As a group bonded due to your passion and will remain saké friends for a long time.
Sandra, I would like to thank you for your knowledge about the industry and how you give your sake fever to others for the benefit of the industry.
The course had plenty of depth and was well presented, I also suggest by starting an hour early would unable the participants to digest the content at a slower space. Your content for the course is in-depth and you made sure that everyone understood the content so we would succeed with the exam. The sake and food pairing with cheese and chocolate help me to understand the sake matching with non traditional Japanese food.
The restaurant experience is a must and good practice. To understand the basic and raise the standard of what a future sake sommelier role is.
I also think a class size of 6 people is better for interaction between the groups especially when we gave feedback back on the sake. It was a great learning experience to listen to follow students because we were from different age and backgrounds. Especially when it came to describe the aroma, taste and food match to a sake.
The location was perfect for everyone, it was very central, the room was intimate and perfect for the group to follow.
Also, getting the course content notes after registration was a great way to learn and get familiar with the Japanese terminology of sake products. It is a new language if you are not from Japan and it the concept of learning take time.
The sommelier sake educator association are so lucky to have a dedicated person like yourself to promote this industry and hope will lead for you to get one day an honorary title.
I would suggest to do this course if you want to become a sake professional. Great foundation for it.
