  After adopting a pup from a local rescue, we realized she had some anxiety and other issues that we needed help addressing. We found Pawsitive Pup and Rachel through Google reviews, and took a chance. With just a handful of well designed sessions, we have a much more confident and relaxed puppy and a much more confident family. None of it is miraculous. Just a knowledgeable, friendly trainer who knows exactly how to get the results you need. If you are unsure about whether or not to try Rachel, definitely go ahead and sign up for an evaluation session. She knows what it will take to get your pup where you want them, and won't sign you up for more sessions than you absolutely need. Having worked with dog trainers previously, it has been a relief for us to have a trainer who works to address our specific needs instead of following a "one size fits all" program.

  We contacted Rachel from Pawsitive Pup Dog training back in September when we brought home a rescue from the shelter. Ranger was a 7-month-old (German shepherd, husky mix) and needed all the help he could get. Rachel came by for a meet and greet and explained the puppy program to us in detail. At that visit she met two of our other dogs, Rudy (Pitbull Staffy mix) and Bailey (Chihuahua, dachshund mix).
  Rudy is the sweetest dog but very reactive when we walk him. When he showed up at our doorstep 2 years ago, we enrolled him with a trainer who used an e-collar. I think in Rudy’s case, this made him more reactive and aggressive to other dogs when he was on a leash.
  We love Rachel’s philosophy on dog training and her use of positive reinforcement.
  We decided to sign up Rudy as well and we are REALLY happy we did. We have completely changed our approach to Rudys’ walks and he’s showing improvements everyday. We also got our oldest dog Bailey who’s 10 years old a session with Rachel to help him cope with some of his anxiety issues.
  Rachel is a wealth of information and has handouts at every session to reinforce her training methodology. Our daughter got involved in the training too and Rachel was kind enough to get her ‘trainer’s certificate’ as well.
  We highly recommend Rachel for anyone who’s looking to train their puppy or help their dogs with any behavioral issues. A+++

  Rachel is an awesome trainer! My yorkie, Sassy was a hyper little thing with lots of energy and she would jump and nibble on anyone that came over to visit. Within our first session with Rachel I noticed a great difference with her behavior. Sassy was more calm and has significantly stopped jumping on people ever since! Rachel speaks dog and she knows a lot about what they need and can read their body language. I would highly recommend her! A+

  Rachel is a great trainer. I didn’t know much about the Shiba Inu breed before I got my puppy and how this breed can be a bit more challenging to train than most. Luckily, Rachel had prior experience training this breed and seemed to always know exactly what to do to get my puppy to respond positively to commands. The improvement since we started working with her a few months ago has been significant and has honestly exceeded my expectations.

  We had an awesome experience with Rachel, and she really helped us move the ball forward with our pup. Not only is he better-behaved in general, but we gained skills and tactics that will allow us to continue reinforcing good behaviors and fostering deeper connection with our furry friend.

  The assistance I received from Pawsitive Pup training has been excellent. I reached out to Rachel for assistance with my Jindo (very stubborn and independent breed). He struggled with getting into the car and car rides. He would get so worked up with growling and resisting that by the time I would get him into the car and to our destination, he would be extremely anxious and completely uncooperative. With help from Rachel, we’ve had several car rides to the dog park, vet, and groomers. Recently, my vet, Dr. Stow complimented our progress and asked for Pawsitive’s information. 5 stars! We received superb service, support and techniques to utilize long into the future.

  Drummer loved Rachael and so did i. She gave me great tools to work with in helping Drummer be the best dog he could be. She listened to the needs i had for Drummer and guided us in that direction. Gave us paper info to refer back to when she’s gone. She explained what and why this works Didn’t push anything on me but shared lots of info and very encouraging. This girl knows what she is doing. I highly recommend Rachael for helping you train your dog to be the BEST dog he can be!!

  Rachel was recommended to us by a friend and we could not be more pleased with the results of a few in-home training sessions with our 18- month old Boston Terrier. Our initial need was training her to go into a small airline carrier so she could travel with us. Within a few days of our first session, our pup was willingly and comfortably going in the carrier and after another session or two, she was also learning the proper way to greet people, sit/stay, and respond to a number of our commands. Rachel’s expertise in animal behavior is amazing. She understands the cause of the unwanted behavior and trains both the dog and the pet’s parents to change the behavior. Our Boston is now much more socialized and we look forward to including her in our travels. Thank you, Rachel!

  Our dog used to use the restroom inside, EVERYWHERE! Rachel taught us how to properly crate train and now there’s no more mess. He knows basic commands now as well like sit, stay, release and lay. We’re pumped to start the advanced sessions and we couldn’t be any happier with Rachels help!

  Our hyper 5 month old Labrador puppy has shown significant changes over the past month. He knows basic commands (sit, stay, down, off, etc) he doesn’t bolt out the front door anymore and best of all, no more accidents inside the house! He still has 4 more training sessions left to complete and I can’t wait to see how he progresses! Rachel has been super informative and easy to work with, my dog absolutely adores her, and so do we!

  Rachel is a fantastic trainer and has worked wonders with my extremely willful Shiba Inu puppy. She uses positive reinforcement training techniques and makes each lesson fun. She also provides clear instructions for my husband and me so we can work with our dog between training sessions. Rachel clearly understands the dog “mentality” and uses it to make her training more effective. The best part is that my puppy is always so happy and excited to see Rachel!
