True Barefoot Trimmer
My older quarter horse mare has been pretty flat-footed all of her life. She was prone to stone bruises and it caused me to have to keep her shod or put boots on her for any terrain that wasn't grass or pure sand. This also meant keeping her shod in the winter so that she would willingly traverse frozen ground.
Michele's commitment to learning barefoot trimming has made it so that my horse is back to being barefoot! We used glue-on shoes for the first winter as she built up her heel and slowly reshaped her hoof so that her soles were no longer pancaked to the ground. After 18 years of various farriers across two states, I found a true-blue barefoot trimmer that has kept my horse from needing traditional shoes.
