  A vital part of our daughter's success

  Our daughter was already a strong student with excellent grades, ACT scores, and writing skills, but we honestly weren't sure how to approach the college application essays. We knew the essays would be one of the few places where she could really stand out, and after seeing how much Ms. Shute had helped her in AP Language and APUSH (she scored 5s on both), we asked if Ms. Shute would guide her through the application process.
  Working with Ms. Shute made the whole thing so much less stressful. She created a Google Doc with separate tabs for every part of the application, helped our daughter prioritize deadlines, and most importantly, taught her what admissions officers are actually looking for. Instead of just editing essays, she helped her understand the assignment, identify the strongest stories from her life, and outline essays that highlighted her strengths while making her memorable.
  Her guidance gave our daughter so much confidence throughout the process, and we truly believe it made a real difference in her applications. She got into Stanford, Cornell, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, Dartmouth, UC Berkeley, and several other outstanding universities. Ms. Shute was absolutely a vital part of those successes, and we can't recommend her highly enough to any family navigating the college admissions process.

  I’ve had the pleasure of working with Julie for several years at a school site. She’s such a caring and kind teacher who absolutely LOVES what she does.   Best SAT Tutor & College Prep Counselor

  We met with many different SAT tutors (and companies), trying to find someone who could actually give effective tips that would make a difference in improving my son's SAT score and Ms. Shute is definitely the best!
