Akwaaba African Drumming, Art and Craft

Canning Vale Prekindy

Thank you Paul for the amazing workshops for our children. They were humming, singing and drumming for the rest of the session and couldn't wait to tell their parents all about it. I now have my own djembe drum to continue the experience.

Paul was fantastic. Great teacher, always smiling and makes it fun and interesting. We were part of an african drumming group session for children and my 5 and 8 yr old (and even 2 yr old) loved it. We would recommend the activity for all ages, kids and adults alike.

Dear Paul and Kawaka.  Thank you so much for making Petrie's birthday an unforgettable experience!  Everybody had so much fun.  Some of Petrie's friends came over on Monday and commented on how it started raining non-stop from Sunday.  They were convinced that it is a result of us doing that rain song and dance on Saturday!  I had a lot of enquiries about you guys after the party and after posting some pics on FB.  I hope that many people will contact you as a result.  May God keep blessing you and may your business prosper in 2017!  Thank you once again!

Dear Paul and Colin. Many thanks for your wonderful contribution to our Year 11 Retreat. Once again there has been so much positive feedback about how much students and teachers enjoyed your drumming sessions. Your smile and energy always makes an enormous impact on people and certainly help to make other people smile. I have attached some pictures that I took over the last few days. Perhaps you can use some of them in promoting the wonderful work that you and Colin do. Many thanks again and may God continue to bless you both.

Notre Dame Catholic Primary School

Just an email to say thank you so much for the experience
last Wednesday. The children and staff had an absolute ball. Paul was so
fantastic with the kids and ensured they were engaged and had a smile on their
faces throughout the whole experience. What a fantastic cultural experience.

Hale School

Paul,Thank you both so much for the fun, energy and all round joy you brought to our wellness festival today. The boys and staffed absolutely loved every minute. Sincerely Julianne

I attended the City of Joondalup Platinum Adventures
African Drumming Workshop on 12 September.  Paul, you could not have
known what a difference the morning's workshop made to me.  I really
enjoyed your wonderful stories of your country of birth, the rhythms, the songs
and the ingenious instruments.
The laughter you generated in the workshop, your energy and
obvious enjoyment of teaching and playing were a delight.
I am not given to spontaneously hugging people I barely know
(I hope you will forgive me for doing so), but I could not resist letting you
know how much you fed my soul.  Drumming and singing were enormous fun and
I shall seize any opportunity in the future to do some more.  Perhaps
dancing, too!
Thank you so much.

A fantastic place to learn the basic techniques of playing the djembe. Paul is a fun and enthusiastic teacher who loves to pass on his extensive knowledge and experience of djembe playing.

Hello Paul. Thank you so much for your work at the Social Rec Club! I had some amazing feedback from my facilitators and the kids.

Department of Transport

Thank you to Paul! We all really enjoyed the drumming
activity and received great feedback from all!

Good morning, I just had to
send an email to say a huge Thank You for Saturday. Paul and the Akwaaba
drumming was nothing short or fantastic and the most talked about activity of
the morning. You were just fantastic with engaging those who wanted to have a
go and that is exactly what we wanted.

Perth College

I am writing to say thank you for the wonderful interactive
workshop Akwaaba presented to the Perth College Junior School for our Creative
Arts Day this year.  All the girls, from
Kindy to year 6, thoroughly enjoyed the percussion and singing session and learnt
a lot about African music in the process.
The passion you have for your music and the joy you take in sharing it
with others was a delight to behold! I think the final part of the session,
when all 280 girls spontaneously jumped to the feet and started dancing, was a
clear endorsement of the terrific experience you created for us.  The staff all felt that Akwaaba truly
captured the spirit of our Creative Arts day – a time to celebrate the Arts and
release the creativity, imagination and joy within each of us.

Braemar Presbyterian Care

just wanted to thank you again for your workshop. You lifted the spirits and
energy of our residents and staff who all thoroughly enjoyed themselves singing
your songs and playing your drums.  They all commented on your “happy
clothes” and beautiful smile which just added to the memorable experience.

Caritas Australia
