The best program in the area

I have been wanting to find an Aikido program for my son to start. Once he turned four, we searched around the area and found this Dojo the best. My son had so much fun that he wanted to go back after his first trial class! Matt, the teacher, has been very mindful and kind when conducting the classes. My son is learning more than just the martial arts while he’s having fun in the class!

The dojo incorporates a ton of creative aspects and learning not only traditional Aikido moves, disciplines, and principles, but also much about the Japanese culture! Senpai Matt makes learning so much fun and definitely inspires the children to think creativity, peacefully, and instinctually. We are so happy to have found our dojo home!

Superb Training

Wonderful dojo that teaches vibrant, powerful Aikido in a direct line from Hombu Dojo and the US Aikido Federation. Highly qualified teachers with a wide breadth of experience in other arts, and a strong focus on physical conditioning as a basis for technique. Above all, a great deal of energy and discovery on the mat. Can't recommend this dojo highly enough.

Excellent place for children too!

I had been to several Dojos looking for the perfect environment and teacher for our daughter. Matt is incredible with every one of the children. He has a perfect balance of fun, respect, inspiration, creativity, control, discipline and pure joy of the art of Aikido. What a blessing he and the Dojo have been and continue to be. We are lifers !

Beautiful, clean, and bright dojo with a wonderful community of martial artists dedicated to exploring Aikido. I started training late in life and I have to say this is probably one of the best things in my long life. Training in this martial are at this dojo has taught me something that I was awful at my whole life and that is patience . Oscar Loves Aikido!

I moved to the USA in 2017 and, after having been practicing Aikido in Barcelona for 20 years, one of the first things I did was to find a dojo to keep training, learning and improving my Aikido. I visited some of them in my first days here, and finally decided to join Aikido of Pinellas County. I received a warmth welcome, and Reuven quickly invited me to give classes in his dojo. I love to teach and train here. If you want to start your path into Aikido, this is the right place. A nice bunch of good people willing to learn and an amazing set of instructors that take turns in doing their best to spread the Aikido way in Pinellas County.

Excellent Aikido taught by experienced instructors. Their USAF affiliation (also from "whence" I originated LONG ago.) emphasizes all aspects of Aikido, but particularly BASIC Aikido. I believe it is important to master the basics in ANYthing..before moving up. You MUST crawl before you can walk and WALK before you can RUN..This is a FIRST RATE dojo to achieve that goal. I have trained with and been instructed by both Arturo and Reuven Senseis. They are great teachers and you should experience their classes. I have been training Aikido for many years and am Yudansha (black belt), so I have seen many instructors....this is a very good place to train.

I've had the pleasure of studying Aikido for a decade and have known Pinellas County Wellness and Family Martial Arts Center's chief Instructor, Reuven, for most of that time. After training in the martial arts and Aikido throughout the US and Japan, I've met few people as dedicated to the art and to self-improvement as Reuven. Excellent place to start learning a Martial Art. They have a small weight center inside for those who want to add an additional workout to their martial arts training, and The owner/Sensi has stated as the dojo grows they will be expanding this area along with adding community type events such as movie nights, etc. Both instructors have made this place a very open, and welcoming environment to learn, and practice.
