Second visit to Hoi An

We stayed three nights last year and decided then that next time in Vietnam we would go straight back to Moons place. We stayed fifteen nights this time as we love Hoi An and and we were treated like family. Nothing was any trouble and always smiling. It is not to far out of the action with plenty of eating places around. We rode the Bikes every day and went everywhere. Moon and her husband are the best and their staff are amazing. Moons Tailoring and Dress making skills are exceptional. B/fast was always to look forward to and it didn't matter what time. Room always cleaned on a daily basis with fresh towels and water. We could go on but value for money this place wins hands down every time. I think everything else has already been covered in previous reviews. Great home stay, great staff, great b/fast,great price. Will definitely be back there next year.

Amazing 11 night stay and some fantastic tailored clothes.

I feel like I'm letting a big secret out of the bag, but I owe it to Moon and Michael and the rest of the staff. THIS PLACE IS WONDERFUL!!! We had more than our fair share of bad issues with the first places we booked when we arrived to Hoi An and after trying 2 different places and being.... grossed out... we decided to pay a small amount more and go (on recommendation of a nice couple I chatted up on the street) to The Moon Homestay. Its about a 20 minute walk/10 min bike ride/5 min, 25-30k dong taxi ride to the River/old town. The place is immaculately clean, staff is friendly as you could ever ask for, they serve you complimentary breakfast with your choice of drink (we usually got the pho bo and iced coffee with milk) and have a very nice pool to cool off in which was a life saver on some of the hotter days. There are plenty of restaurants and little stores within walking distance. I really can't say enough nice things about this place... you guys... we almost cried we were so happy with everything. We first booked for 3 nights.. after the first night, we added 7 more nights to that... and then 1 more for good measure. They clean your room and make your bed and change the towels every day while you are out exploring. They have complimentary bikes to take into town, which we did a lot, and good recommendations for food and activities.... When booking really cheap places and continuously being disappointed, we kept saying "Well, you get what you pay for" ... with this place it really felt like you get way more. They are wonderful... just do it. The ONLY semi-inconvenient thing that happened was due to some other loud messy and rude guests but that was not the fault of the hostess and they handled them well. Literally nothing else was even close to being a negative. Tailor ~We shopped til we dropped in old town and even though they have a full tailor shop down stairs next to the kitchen we thought we were done ...but then we heard from the same couple that recommended the place to us (They stay a month at a time and are very familiar with the whole operation) that Moon was a tailor for 30 years so even though i had 2 suits already i opted in for another. I was looking for a nice greenish color linen suit and she had some good colors to choose from that I didn't see in old town so i chose one and a very snazzy inner lining and they did a bang up job I also added a nice pattered shirt to go with. I couldn't be happier. I also wanted a banana shirt because I'm a sucker for kitchy tourist stuff, but standing 6'7 and being kinda skinny, it was hard to find one that was long enough but not too wide... I looked liked I was swimming in all the pre made ones, so I had her custom make one. Perfect. Come for the hospitality, stay for the breakfast and pool... and leave with some custom made clothes! My girlfriend also had 2 collared shirts made and she loves them. Bottom line ~ Just book it. Its great.

Highlight of Vietnam

We had the most amazing stay here. Moon & her family & staff were so welcoming & made us feel so at home.Moon tailor made my husband a sports jacket & jeans which he loves. Just by showing Moon some pictures she made me 2 dresses & jeans which fit perfectly!!We loved having the bikes on hand to use whenever we liked. We spent a lot of time exploring the area & meeting the locals. Our stay with Moon & her family & staff was the highlight of our trip to Vietnam. Definitely recommend!!!

A wonderful stay!

I had a wonderful stay at “The Moon Homestay” Everyone was very friendly and helpful in finding great restaurants and places to go. The free bikes were perfect for getting around the small town and seeing the sights without having to walk long distances. They also happen to have an in-house tailor and I was able to get two great quality custom tailored dress shirts and a really nice suit for a great price and at a fraction of what most tailors in the old town were asking. If you are looking to get some clothing made while you are in town they are an awesome option!

Our second long stay at The Moon Homestay Villa

My wife and I stayed here in September 2017 and this time (April 2018) we have spent a month here. Between those two periods we have been lucky enough to travel much of the world as we start to enjoy our retirement. The Moon Home stay is still one of our most favourite places. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean, our room has a balcony so you can enjoy the beautiful weather while overlooking the sparkling pool that you can swim in all year round. It is a leisurely 15 minute walk to to the Hoi An town centre or you can use the available bikes to explore further afield. The best attribute of this home stay is Moon, staff and family. Together the team go out of their way to make you feel at home and make you feel special. They are happy for you to interact with them as much or little as you want. Breakfast is part of the package with a good variety and a nice way to start the day. All of this is at a fraction of the cost that we have paid in most other parts of the world. A truly memorable experience and one that we will repeat again in 2019.

Gorgeous large rooms some with balconies

We stayed at the Moon Homestay for 3 nights. We were travelling with our family and had the family room which consisted of a bedroom with twin beds for the kids and a room with a queen size bed for the adults. The grandparents got to stay in a large room with two queen size beds and a lovely balcony. The family room does not have a balcony. Breakfasts were generous. Very clean.

Magical experience at The Moon Homestay

We had 9 wonderful nights at the Moon Homestay and could not have been happier with our choice of accommodation in Hoi An! The room was large, the bed comfortable and it was spotless as was the bathroom! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and everyone there greets you with a smile at all times! The breakfast was great and they catered to our taste for spicy food by adding chilli to our omelette....yum!They have complementary bikes and the pool is kept sparkling and was sooo refreshing! We will return to stay on our next trip to Hoi An and thoroughly recommend you consider it for your own visit!

Great value and very friendly

Very friendly family run homestay run by Moon and her husband..The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast staff were very helpful and attentive. Phuc the manager dealt with our questions and requests very efficiently and professionally. It felt like home as you were welcome to use their kitchen and they would accomodate any special dietary requirement that was not listed on their breakfast menu.Great value for money and also a place where you would strike up long conversations with fellow guests-that is the friendly atmosphere that this homestay has.Would highly recommend especially for families- very kid friendly.Welcome change from the normal accomodation on offer.

Great homestay!

We are a family with 2 kids (13 & 9). We spend 7 nights at moon homestay and loved the place. Mrs Moon is so kind and generous. The rooms are big and comfortable. Great pool and great breakfast. Free bycecle. Easy to get to the old city. Dont think twice. Great homestay!!!

Best family and place to stay in Hoi An !

We searched and searched for an affordable but nice place to stay while we spent two weeks in Hoi An and after reading great reviews I’m so glad we chose the Moon Homestay! Moon, her family, and her staff are so welcoming and helpful to give you advice on the area and provide a really comfortable, clean, welcoming stay. We stayed for two weeks and we were so sad to leave. They were so great with our kids, ages 2 & 4. They work extremely hard to make sure you have a good stay. Breakfast every morning was cooked to order and everything was excellent. Like I said, we stayed for two weeks and were able to find variety on their menu choices. We stayed in the family room and our room was cleaned every day which made it feel so nice every afternoon when we would return. They even had two bikes with baby seats and that’s how we got around town. It was about a 10 minute bike ride to An bang beach and 5-8 minute bike ride to old town. The Moon homestay is In a Great, quiet location. If we ever return to Hoi An there is no doubt we will definitely be coming back here ! We miss them already !*If you go to the beach don’t stop at the main entrance. Go left a little ways, less Crowd and nice restaurants! I think it was called the beach house or something.. very very nice food and staff !

Lovely family place

We stayed here 4 nights and really enjoyed the service and family. They were very helpful and were always checking to see if there was something they could do to help you. The rooms are big and very clean, they provide laundry service and have a nice little pool. The breakfast were standard and we enjoyed them. Provided free bottled water. Recommend the restaurant Tin Tin just down the way and it was very good. About 20 minute walk to market/lantern area so it was perfect for us.

Our Fourth Visit to Moon's

This was our fourth stay at the Moon Homestay and we will be back for a fifth stay. Moon and her staff are very welcoming and will do as much as possible to make your stay comfortable and interesting. Biking to the beach was a highlight as well as the walks to Old Town. The daily breakfast offered many choices. Along with your choice, a plate of fruit was also served. Thank you, Moon and Phuc and the rest of the staff. Our 7 nights were wonderful.

Wonderful homestay in Hoi An

We stayed in “the moon homestay” for 7 nights and we had a very good experience (family of 4)Moon, her family and the staff were so nice and friendly, they helped us in everything that we needed.Breakfast was excellent The rooms were big and clean All the facilities were great, including the pool...We also used moon’s tailoring capabilities - absolutely “all in one package ”The location is very good, not in the heart the old city (less crowded) and very close (2 min with bikes) to the rice fields, where we could escape from the hassle .....To summarize we highly recommend

Wonderful Moon

We loved Moon Homestay so much! Very friendly family run business. Rooms are very spacious and cleaned daily with fresh towels. We stayed here 6 days and was close to everything we needed. Water pressure in shower was great after a long day sight seeing. Loved having a balcony in our rooms. Moon in a wonderful seamstress too. A must stay homestay in Hoi An. We'll be back

We will be back very soon.

The hospitality my family received at this charmingly classy homestay has been unmatched in our tour of Southeast Asia. The entire establishment has been newly renovated, delightfully decorated and comfortable. The breakfasts here are delicious. Haute Couture quality bespoke tailored clothes are offered here at incredibly reasonable prices ($120 for wool cashmere suit ). We easily spent as much if not more on clothes than our accommodations. For all we experienced here we would have gladly paid more for our stay and didn’t want to leave. I hope that we will be back very soon.

Don't look anywhere else - this is the place to stay!

A 10 mon walk from the bus drop point from Hue, this place is perfect for families and couples/solo travelers.Bright and clean rooms, balconies to each, great breakfasts and a pool. You can't beat the price for what you get.Super-cute fly and helpful staff - even driving 10k out of town to rescue us when our scooter broke down.Walk to the Old Town is about 20 mins, but only 5 mins by scooter. Easy to reach Marble Mountain and other sights, but still within city in quiet road. Plenty of local restaurants within a few paces of homestay. And there is a tailor onsite - if you want them to make up any clothes for you!Highly recommended.

Our home at Hoi An

We are a family with 3 children and we stayed there for more than 2 weeks- mainly because we felt like home away from home. The place is managed by a great family which takes care of all our needs with a lot of professionalism and politeness. The place is very clean and the facilities are new and welcoming. The owner let us use her kitchen with a lot of generosity. The best place we had in Vietnam and highly recommended.

Nice, clean and friendly homestay

We stayed at this Homestay for 2 nights only. We booked through agoda (for only 15 USD a night, while in booking its was way more expensive) and we payed directly through agoda. The Homestay is located out of the city centre and the busy places. You can go there in 5min using the FREE bicycles from the homestay. They are not the newest ones but drive smoothly and are safe. We used them to go to one of the islands around as well. The rooms are nice and the bed is comfy. The pool looks nice but we did not use it - it was raining most of the time. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Other than that there is a taylor in the homestay (Moon). And they are excellent and very fast. We ordered 15 pieces the first day with some extra wishes (evening) and tried everything on the next day in the evening. Suits and shirts etc were perfect while the dress needed some minor changes. Every little change was made until the morning of the next day, the day we left. They just packed everything up in a box and sent it home for us. You can choose airmail or seamail. (be aware that the price table they have is old and now it's more expensive to send something, which I already let them know).Oh, and we got an extra breakfast because we had no time to go somewhere before our pick up. And they let us shower again after our checkout because we were sweaty after using the bikes again (after checking out). What else can you ask for?

Amazing Stay with Moon.

Had a wonderful time staying at Moons homestay and tayloring shop. Moon and her family went above and beyond for us. From getting us flowers for our anniversary to making us suits and dresses for friends and family. It was the highlight of our month long trip in Vietnam. The breakfast, the pool, the room, the bed, the large showerhead, the community. All of it top notch. Not sure when we'll be back to Vietnam, but whenever that is we'll be sure to stay at Moons again.- Steven and Abby

A piece of paradise

As I write this know I am in tears because this has to be one of the best homes I've ever had the pleasure of living in. Never in a million years did I think I would find a home away from home in such a foreign country but alas I have here at moon's. From the warm messages prior to our arrival to our final farewell Moon and beautiful Family were nothing but gracious, caring & attentive. We were lucky enough to have time to get a suitcase full of custom clothes made inside her tailor shop (on location) fitted and made perfectly for both myself and friend. The room was cleaned daily with decorative towel animals and the rest of the villa pristinely cleaned by her mother and staff. Moon was the perfect host sharing her knowledge of local shops and places to eat along with her sons giving us some tips on where to buy souvenirs directly from the source. The pool was refreshing and perfect and we were able to walk across the street and bring some cocktails into enjoy...speaking of water the shower was like a waterfall with pressure and heat the entire time. This part of town has a cool breeze so we found it perfect to live without a/c during our afternoon naps however it is there for those who like a chilled sleep. This location was perfect for us and away from the main market (about a 5minute bike ride) did I mention you get bike rentals for free so we felt fully immersed in this little towns true essence. You can hear the beating drums of the dragon dancers at night and if your not relaxed enough just from the stay at Moons Villa is only a 3 minute walk to the best massage of your life at Pandanus spa . I would highly recommend a stay here and can't wait to come back. Till next time Bon Voyage and happy adventuring!

Home away from home!

Wow! We could not be more happy to have stayed here. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by moon and her beautiful friends and family. They brought us to our room, brought us cold tea and coffee and made us feel at home instantly. Our room overlooked the beautiful pool below where we spent sometime cooling down and enjoying a beer from the shop across the street. In the morning we were brought a beautiful breakfast and whenever we came home we were offered a drink. The hospitality was something we had never experienced. Moon was such a sweet heart always making sure we were happy and making us smile with her smile. Her sons were very kind smart boys and her husband was very helpful picking bikes out for us to use and making sure they worked. The location was perfect, it wasn't right in the old town with the markets but just a short bike ride away. The neighbourhood was quiet with nice restaurants and spas within walking distance. We had an amazing time at the pandanus spa which is literally a block away. The room was beautiful and open. With a nice balcony, huge king bed and a luxurious double headed shower. Not only was this place nothing but amazing to top it off we had a lot of clothes made for us by moon. This ended up being the best way as we could shower after adventuring around for the day and be clean for our fittings. They made every little change we requested and did an amazing job of everything. I wish I had greater words to describe my happiness and joy for this home and this family but all I can tell you is this is the place to stay in Hoi An!

A wonderful two-week stay in Hoi An at the Moon Homestay

We have just stayed for two weeks at the Moon Homestay and loved it. The deluxe room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed. We had a French door leading out onto a lovely balcony and we enjoying sitting out in the cool of the evenings. In the heat of the day we so enjoyed and appreciated the pool and used it every day. Moon and her family and staff are wonderful and fuss over you with a fabulous breakfast – I appreciated being able to have muesli and yogurt and fruits as an alternative to a hot breakfast. The coffee is the best we had in Vietnam. We were particularly impressed that free drinking water is provided and you can help yourself in the kitchen to free tea, coffee, hot or cold, and there is always juice and ice in the fridge and freezer too. The homestay also provides free bicycles. The location is good – a reasonable walk into beautiful old Hoi Ann and a cycle or a taxi ride away from either An Bang Beach or Cua Dai beach. We preferred Cua Dai beach as it was less busy. There are lots of restaurants near to The Moon if you don’t want to go too far for food. We also had some clothes made by Moon while we were there and were delighted with them. Thank you to Moon and her family and staff for a wonderful stay in Hoi An at the Moon Homestay!

Wonderfull house, wonderfull stay, wonderfull miss Moon

We were here for 4 days and 3 night, and when you entered the villa you felt home.Miss Moon is so friendly, and really could give you information about the area. Rooms where clean, bed was made up every day. Breakfast was more then enough, you could ask for more if you wanted. Bikes where free to use, driving to the city on bike will take you about 10 minutes. Swimming pool was also nice and clean. You are free to use the kitchen or grab some juice if you want. Miss Moon was able to make a full suit and dress for me and fiancée in about 1,5 days which was extremely short. But they both look amazing as you can see. Suit 120, shirt 20 and dress 60. I could defenitely recommend this homestay, to people who like to relax and have the same comfort as there own home.Greetings from Marianne & Tim

Comfortable stay

Stayed at Moonhomestay for a week and enjoyed the fact that this is a small family operated business.Bikes for your everyday use very handy. Freshly prepared breakfast.Tailor on the premises is a great concept, however the men's clothing was far superior to the ladies tailoring.Moon and her husband very accomodating to your requests.Thank you.

First visit to Vietnam

This was our first time and first stop in Vietnam after several flight delays and 18 hours travelling. We used the prearranged transfer from airport and were welcomed warmly on our arrival at The Moon.It really is a very unique place to stay. The rooms are spacious and clean and it is centrally located to walk or use bikes provided to get to Old Town and the beach. We used the pool everyday during our 5 night stay which is perfectly located to to take advantage of afternoon shade.Moons husband takes great pride in keeping the pool spotlessly clean and inviting. The breakfast is also a highlight, as you order the night before and it's all freshly made for you on arrival downstairs in the morning.Moon was very helpful in arranging day tours to Cham Island and My sonsanctuary. We also used the Tailoring which was a bonus at being located at your accommodation. The Moon Homestay was a fantastic start to our holiday in Vietnam which we would highly recommend as great value and defiantly use again when returning to Hoi An .Happy Aussie travellers

I would chose it again

We liked the spacious room and the freshly prepared breakfast (you can chose from a list). The free bikes provided bring everything close: the old town, the beach, and the amazing coutryside around you can explore. The clean pool is a bonus in a hot day. You can use their on-the-spot tailor sevices on fair prices.

Very welcoming and accomodating

My wife booked our stay at The Moon Hotel through Air B&B and I have to say it was the best accomodation we've stayed in after 6 weeks of travelling in South East Asia. It obvious that the staff and owners take pride in the guesthouse by the cleanliness and upkeep of the property, and were very welcoming and accomodating to us throughout our stay. The free bikes to use were convenient and made getting in and out town easy. The rooms where spacious, clean and comfortable, which was lucky for us as my wife and I both got a touch of food posioning from eating out elsewhere. It was an ideal place to hang out and take it easy for the day as we waited for our aches to pass. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending 'the full moon experience' to family and friends visiting the area. However the address number is incorrect on google maps.

Home, sweet home

We arrived at 7am and, despite the fact it was many hours earlier than the check-in time, we were immediately welcomed and given our breakfast (which was not supposed to be given before checking in)! The staff is simply amazing, always ready to make you feel extremely comfortable and to fulfill your needs. The owners are a lovely couple, who literally make you feel at home and Moon is a great skillful tailor too, so you can order your custom-made and fit-to-size suits or clothes at a very reasonable price. I ordered a beautiful shirt, which was ready in under 24hrs. Our room was very spacious and clean with a very nice private balcony. Breakfast is very good, prepared on the spot and a la carte, so you're usually asked in advance what you'd like to have the following morning. You can also use their bicycles for free, while staying there. The location is very quite, at about 20 minutes walk from Hoi An's ancient town (this is a plus point to us, since you're not right in the middle of the chaotic center, but it's close enough to be there whenever you want). We strongly recommend this Homestay!

Moon and her family were amazing and the location was perfect. We originally planned on staying for 2 nights but loved Hoi An and the place that we stayed another 3 nights.
The free bikes really helped us see the city properly and then cooling down in the pool afterwards was a nice treat.
This is a great place if you're looking to relax and get away from the tourist area but still be close enough to bike to town (10 mins away) and to the beach (10 mins away).
She's also a great tailor if you're looking to get any custom clothes done. I bought 3 amazing jackets from her (winter wool jacket and 2 blazers) that fit like a dream. And my partner bought a custom suit. Custom clothes never felt so good!!!

I would 100% recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Moon Homestay! Moon is a fantastic, helpful, smiley lady whose hospitality is wonderful, with great breakfast and even an excellent, hassle-free tailoring service. Wonderful value for money. The rooms are large, cool and comfortable, with great balcony access for many. The swimming pool is a blessing, and we couldn't have been made to feel more at home by Moon and her husband. With free bicycles, you can easily explore the area and reach the Old Town centre in minutes. Absolutely lovely family, and lovely stay!

Very happy customers

My family and I each got a couple of items made by Moon and we all couldn't be happier! Moon is a lovely lady with a great eye for detail. She knows exactly what you are after and the quality is superb! It is also nice not having to go into the main part of town for fittings etc making getting clothes tailored a more relaxing experience. Would 100% recommend!

Wonderful B&B

We had a wonderful stay at Moon Homestay! We ended up staying nearly a week longer than expected, partly because we were so comfortable here! Moon's house is new, modern, and very clean. We traveled all the way down Vietnam, and this was by far the cleanest and nicest homestay we stayed in! The pool was fantastic, the breakfast wonderful, and the family really really nice! Moon spoke good English, and while others in the family didn't, we had a lot of fun interacting with them. We had a couple of things made downstairs in her tailor shop and were really satisfied, plus we got to see them working on them downstairs, which was really fun! We stayed in two different rooms. First, we stayed in the simple double room. Very nice and everything you need. We moved into a bigger room when our friend came with a balcony overlooking the pool and it was spectacular! So comfortable. It is a little far from town (15-20 minute walk), but it's nice to take a break from the super touristy old town and walk through areas that more resemble how the locals live. Moon has free bikes too! This is a great place to stay for nice, budget rooms!

Great hotel make you feel at home

It's perfect hotel with very high standards. Above all smart and generous owner. She know how to run a business for the tourist benefit. That means she has a lot of information and helps with ticket booking, the staff is good, the place in very clean, breakfast is varied. Swiming pool is refreshing addition in hot weather. The best hotel we had in Vietnam.

Clean and Cozy- we couldn't leave!

The Moon Homestay became a home-away-from-home in Hoi An. Moon and her family were lovely and welcoming, and the atmosphere of the rooms is everything you could want from a small hotel. Location is actually pretty close to old town, the beach, and other cool parts of Hoi An.

Character, Charm and Beautiful Place

Stayed for 10 days here. It is truly a great place. First, Moon is a great host. A very nice woman who did countless things for myself and other guests that were not necessary or part of the stay. She cooked me a special soup every morning, for example, that took her a lot of time to prepare. She also was very kind to the rest of the guests. The staff in general are very kind and generous people.Second, the price is very good (around $30), when you consider the quality of the rooms, the balconies, the pool, and the house itself. The place is set near the rice fields as well and within reasonable walking distance to the beach (about 2 miles) and the city. Ask someone at the homestay to show you how to get through by walking some of the way through the rice fields. Third, the food provided for breakfast is perfect. Lots of options and always with fresh juice and a Vietnamese coffee. Fourth, the tailor shop is really excellent. As a lot of people have pointed out, there is no pressure to buy anything...but why not? I had quite a few professional shirts made and they were done perfectly. And at a good price - Fifth, the pool is great. See the attached photo. Beautiful and big. Finally, the rooms are great. The right size, tastefully decorated, and thoroughly modern. Ceiling fan and A/C. Balconies in most, if not all, rooms. And there are only 7 rooms, so the place will never be too crowded. Wifi worked perfectly for the entire 10 days - much better than in Europe.I wouldn't recommend staying at any other place in Hoi An.

Overdue review of a great short stay at the Moon Homestay

My daughter and I stayed with Moon and her family for 3 days in August 2015 and they made us feel so welcome. The villa was lovely with about 5 guest rooms. Sadly ours didn't have a balcony but it was very big with one king size bed and one double bed. There was a fridge and kettle but no cups. There was a small pool and the breakfast (which was delicious) was served outside. We were able to borrow bikes in order to cycle to the beach. There was a tailor's shop on the premises and Moon helped us to design a denim dress for my daughter and it was made, then altered to her specifications just before we left. We had to leave early (before breakfast was served) on our last day but Moon organised a take-away breakfast (including coffee in a special drinking bag!) for us which was much appreciated. She also made phone calls for us as we were waiting for an outfit to be delivered before we left and they had not turned up. Thanks to Moon everything worked out great in the end. Thank you very much, Moon, for everything.

Nice Homestay

The family who runs the Moon Homestay is really nice and helpful. There doing some tailoring on the ground floor, but they weren´t penetrative. The room was beautiful as well as the bathroom, it even had a balcony. You can order your breakfast the night before at the time you want it. You can have it on your balcony or at the swimming pool. On the last day of our stay there was a power breakdown, so the air conditioning didn´t work and we couldn´t use the toilet. They were very sorry about that, and told us where we could go to charge our cell phones. But they also told us that that happens quite often and they don´t have a generator.

Very welcoming

Moon, her husband and staff make you truly feel like you are welcome in their home. Great location for walking into town. Big clean rooms, and good choices to pick from for breakfast. Western or Vietnamese options. We had clothes made right on site which made it easy for fittings. The free bikes were a bonus to ride into town, to the beach or the rice fields. A delight!

Nice big rooms, awesome clothes made too

My mom and I had a wonderful stay here. The room was large and comfortable with nice private bathroom. The pool is clean. They offer a range of different breakfasts included in the price of the room. Highly recommend having some clothes made while you stay here. We absolutely love the linen pants, silk shirts, and men's jacket which was made quickly (within 1 day!) and expertly. The fee bikes make it easy to get to the nice beach close by and also the old part of Hoi An.

What a great place

Moon this is a wonderful place. On par and better than most places I stayed in. Such a delightful couple that hosted me. Best room with private balcony where I had my delicious breakfast... Baguette to die for.... Service excellence in action in a such a respectful way.

Excellent host and superb tailor

Stayed here for 4 nights. Clean place to stay, nice beds and air conditioned rooms really helps to beat the Hoi An heat. Bikes are available for guests to cycle out to the old town.Really cheerful host. Loved the Vietnam coffee served Moon served us. To top it off, Moon is an very experienced tailor and the clothes she tailored were of very high quality leaving us very satisfied. Overall, highly recommended and would return back here in future!

It Was Like Returning Home

This was our second stay at Moon Homestay and again we loved the feeling of being Home. Moon, her family and her staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our room was large with one king size and one double bed. Moon also runs a tailoring business and goes out of her way to find material and patterns too suit your wants and needs. I strongly recommend Moon Homestay because it is truly a HOME-stay and not a hotel in the guise of a Homestay.

Thank you, Moon

The Moon represents all the reasons I like to stay in homestays. The family is really thoughtful and friendly.I wanted to be outside the chaotic tourist centre of town, which The Moon Homestay is, but you can still easily walk or bicycle to the old town. My greatest temptation was the excellent in - house tailor workshop. I bought 2 beautiful woolen coats and several blouses made to measure....Moon made sure that the work was well done and ready by the time I left. All in all a good visit with a lovely family.Thank you Moon Homestay.

Great homestay and awesome tailoring!

This place is wonderful!! The room is spacious, the staff is sweet and the location is perfect. The homestay is close enough to downtown to get there by bicycle, but just far enough from the hustle and bustle that it is quiet. We rode the provided bicycles everywhere we went. – tailor shops, cafes, restaurants, island. We did not check out the beach, but apparently we could of gotten there easily. The market is just a few blocks from home so we picked up fresh fruit there to enjoy as a snack throughout the day. Moon is a tailor, but does not push you to get anything done there. She has samples downstairs that you can try on if you want. We tried a few things and asked her to make a few items for us. Once we saw how beautiful her work is we ordered many more. We kept them very busy for the few days leading up to Tet and they were kind and gracious with each additional order.

Really nice homestay, lovely family

Don't be afraid by the location ! Seems far from the old town but actually it's not ! 10/15min walking distance, and you can even borrow bikes at the homestay. The owner, Moon, is very kind and helpfull, very concerned about our trip, our comfort and health (my friend had a huge back pain, and Moon was already trying to find some remedies to help her getting better). The room in itself is very spacious, clean, and the mattress was really good. She even arranged a pick up at the airport, for far less than most of the average taxi rates. And the plus ? No need to run through all those tailor businesses in town, she has her own at the homestay. And got really pretty unusual fabrics.I could not recommend more Moon and her lovely homestay.

Tailoring and Being at Home

I love staying at the Moon Homestay, 157 Ly Thai To, Hoi An. The bed is super comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the location is great. I especially like being able to walk into the Old Town (10 - 15 minutes) and cycle to the beach (10 - 15 minutes). The rice paddies are so close by and there are numerous cycle paths. I had a skirt and a top made by Moon's team and I love these items of clothing. But, best of all, Moon is so welcoming and kind. I will be back.

So nice family and homestay

We stayed here 5 nights and we really like the house, the location and the family so much. They also have a tailor store. Very comfortable to buy here and also good quality for ok price. I think easier and more comfortable then in the ancient town. When I come back to Hoi An I wanna stay here again. Thanks to Moon and her warmly family.

This place ticks all the boxes

Want clothes made in Hoi An? No trekking into town for fittings as Moon runs her busy tailoring business from the homestay. Friendly family and staff to welcome you home after busy days doing what tourists do. A Huge comfortable room and private bathroom. Lounge room to relax and read. Simple honest breakfast cooked fresh when you want it. Pool if the days are hot. It was cold for our entire stay so we didn't take a dip. Best of all,if you are up for it, Moon will include you in her morning bootcamp, she is very fit. This may include cycling to the beach followed by a run and then a swim or an early morning 3 hour ride further afield to see some REAL village life and maybe buy the veg and fish for lunch direct from the farmers or fishermen. We used the bikes every day and had some wonderful self guided rides into the countryside and to the beach as well as into town for meals and shopping. This homestay is conveniently located just out of the hustle and bustle of town. It is great value and I would definitely stay there again. Thanks Moon.

Home away from home

Moon is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome in her home, as did her family and staff. It's great to see local life in a way you wouldn't in a hotel. Nothing was a problem for her and she helped us with lots of little things like arranging to pick us up from Da Nang train station, making phone calls on our behalf, recommending restaurants etc. She made a skirt for me and it was ready within 24 hours and was just what I wanted. It was so easy to be able to do this in a relaxed way without leaving the house. She was always happy to chat and answer questions and always very prompt to answer emails before we arrived. The room was spacious with a lovely balcony. Great breakfast. It was easy to cycle to An Bang beach and into the old town and free to use the bikes. If you want a real homestay experience this is a great place to stay. Thanks Moon and family, we still think of you!

Moon's home away from home

We felt so incredibly comfortable in Hoi An. Partly because it is a beautiful town and partly because we felt so relaxed in where we were staying. The complimentary breakfasts and bicycles were great, and our rooms were beautiful. It was also nice that we were treated like guests in somebody's home rather than just people staying in a hotel. Location is also good - it took us about 5-10 minutes to cycle to the old town.I would highly recommend Moon's Homestay.

Delightful experience

My Wife and I stayed for about 5 days, rooms are spacious, well equiped and clean. Location is conveniently located between both the historic old town and beach. They are opposites. a 15 minute walk to old town, and a 15 minute bike ride to the beach. Bikes are included! Moon, the hostess will accomodate all your needs and wants. She also runs a tailor shop, we ended up buying 6 pieces, all of very good qualilty and cut. Very convenient when you stay here. We truly had a wonderful time, in fact.......... so much that we lost track of time, ending up in us staying another day. Unexpected but a bonus in light of the pleasant time we had.

Moon explorers had a happy landing......

We stayed at this friendly family run homestay 5 nights and it was a perfect base for Hoi An. Madam Moon and staff looked after us without fault and we felt at home. Room was spotless and new towels each day, staff v friendly, bikes are available to get about and it's only 5 mins to centre but near market and eateries. We didn't intend to have clothes made but as Madam Moon and staff were so helpful and talented we ended up with fab clothes and didn't have to take a risk on the 500 tailors in town all wanting ur custom! Hoi An was a great foodie ecperience and Moon Homestay made our stay great!

Great homestay with a friendly Vietnamese family

A very nice homestay with clean and cozy rooms and comfy beds.Tri is the owner of the homestay and runs it together with his family. All of them are very friendly and helpful. You can get Vietnamese or western breakfast, both are really good. The family helps also gladly organizing your travel and booking trips, agencies and bus tickets. The location is also very central, you are in the old town within a minute.Highly recommendable!

Great, Homey Place. Double thumbs up to stay.

We are a group of friends that are from Singapore and have stayed at this awesome place for 3 nights. It is a very homey feel and very friendly people, especially the owner, Moon who will not hesitate to assist us with our queries. It is also extremely near to An Bang Beach & the Old Town. The workmanship for the clothes are also good and value for money. Recommend to stay if you are in Hoi An.

The BEST Place to stay in Vietnam

From the moment I arrived at Moon Home stay I felt like family. Moon and her family are the most gracious hosts I have met in my travels. They offer a wealth of information on Hoi An and the surrounding area. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, as though they had you personally in mind when planning. All staff are friendly and accommodating. Everyone has a smile and kind word for all guests and visitors. If you are travelling to Hoi An, THIS IS the BEST place to stay!!

The best bed in asia!

Absolutely the best bed we had in asia so far. Moon homestay is a very friendly, spacious, clean place. We enjoyed staying here a lot. The location is great, 5min bike to the old city and 10min to the lovely beach. Free bikes available. Nice breakfast with fresh fruit and good coffee. And if you have dirty clothes, make sure you do your laundry here: so clean and fresh!

Fantastic place

Excellent place to stay; homely, spacious, beautiful balcony areas, lovely pool, free bikes, beautiful breakfast and many other perks. My boyfriend and I were due to take a fight in the morning which was delayed to that night, Moon let us move into another room until 6pm free of charge. I thought this was a really nice thing to do as we would have been happy to pay.Lovely family who make you feel very welcome and give you your privacy and space. Overall a lovely place to stay, we would definitely go back!

A Friendly Welcome and A Member of the Family

We stayed at the Moon Homestay in Hoi An for five nights in December of 2015. We extended our stay as we liked it there very much. Hoi An is an amazing place and coupled with day trip possibilities to My Son, Hue, Marble Mountain and others makes it the number one destination in Vietnam.Moon and her family were welcoming without being overbearing. The room was neat and clean, and our family of four had ample space, although the hot water doesn't last long for someone who likes long showers. Breakfast is an egg and baguette with butter and jam and served with tea or juice. We were treated as members of the family as they hosted a big lunch on Christmas Eve to honor Moon's Aunt, and we were invited. This made our experience here even more special.Moon has adult size bikes which you can take for free, and Hoi An is certainly a place to bike. Its flat and with lots of places to explore from rice fields to beaches to small villages. The homestay is not within walking distance of the old town. To get to the old town, either take bikes or take a cab which will cost you a little more than one dollar US.One of the attractions for us is that Moon runs a tailoring business out of the homestay. We took advantage of this and had a number of items made at reasonable western prices. In short the items were completed well but the quality could be better. A number of alterations had to take place before we were satisfied here.In short we would certainly come back here. Our children (8 and 10) were actually sad to leave. We would recommend The Moon Homestay for both couples and families.

Great stay! A warm welcome

The moon homestay is a great little place, nice and peacefull with great serviceI would definitely recommend to stay here, the building in nice and modern, big rooms, nice spacious and Hot shower, free bikes to use and you are in no time on the beach or center

Best stay in Vietnam

After two weeks of dorms, my girlfriend and I decided it would be nice to have our own room in Hoi an When we got off the 10 hour bus from Nha trang we were 4 hours early for check in. Not to worry though, moon set us up on probably the most comfortable couch I've ever laid on. Then we got free breakfast which was also the best one of the trip and finally our room was ready. Massive bed, awesome shower, private balcony and great air conditioning. We were sorted out with motorbikes and all the staff were very helpful. Easily on of the best stays of the trip

Great stay

On arrival I wondered if it was a bit remote being situated midway between The Ancient Town and An Bang beach but free bicycles were always available and the 10 minute ride to either destination only added to the joy of the stay. The rooms were clean, large, and well appointed definitely the best I stayed in during the trip. Moon was very interesting to talk to and helped me with advice and directions during my stay. If I returned to Hoi An I would definitely stay at Moon Homestay again.

The stunning Moon River Homestay is in a very quiet and tranquil near the organic Tra Que Vegetable Village. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is just outside the UNESCO village of Hoi An. The rooms are excellently furnished in a contemporary style with very well equipped and bathrooms The views of the countryside are stunning. It is also near the beach at An Bang which is a great place to visit. The welcome and hospitality offered by Tri and Ngyet is great and they are able to arrange some great small group trips. These are excellent value and are so much more enjoyable than the typical tours you find on holiday. Tri’s colleague Mark is able to provide some really detailed background information on the local area and the culture of Vietnam. One of the highlights of visiting Tri and Nguyet was a tour that included a head, neck and foot massage followed by a hands and interactive on cookery lesson.

Perfect spot in Hoi An

First, there are a few Moon Homestays, so make sure you've found the right one on Ly Thai To road. Location was perfect, right in between the old quarter and the beach. And also near the Que vegetable village. But it was Moon and her family and staff that made this one of my best stays in Vietnam. Moon was happy to help with ANYTHING we needed! Her husband and son were the same! Rooms are clean and spacious, with AC, satellite cable, and some with private balconies. The outdoor pool is awesome as well. Moon also runs a tailor shop from this location, and I was VERY happy with the beautiful suit at a low cost (women's clothing too). Stay here - you won't regret it!

Lovely homestay

I stayed here for one week having initially booked 3 nights, as I found it the perfect base to explore Hoi An. The double room I stayed in was spacious and clean, with an en-suite bathroom and private balcony with table and chairs. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The price was very reasonable, especially since it included a delicious breakfast and free use of bikes. In terms of location, its a quick bike ride to An Bang beach, which is amazing on a sunny day. And its walking distance to Old Town. I also had some skirts made while I was there, which I'm really pleased with. Moon Homestay was recommended to me by a friend and I'm happy to pass the recommendation on. You will love it!

Chill, Tailored, and Full

Let's start with the rooms! I was able to sleep in two of them as I switched midway through my stay. The first room was on the second floor and did not come with a patio. The second room came with a private patio that only the guests in that room had access to. Both were great rooms though. Ceilings are high so the room felt airy. Each room had their own air conditioner which was great. I had two fresh towels a day - great for a morning shower and then an afternoon shower after the beach!Wifi here was extraordinarily fast and reliable. The place has a pool and looked very clean, but I didn't try it. I went straight to the beach instead. Moon provided bikes for free which was perfect. Biking around town to any part (beach or old town) took no more than 15 minutes and a very relaxed pace.Moon also has the hook up with the local guides. If you want to do any type of tour, just ask her and she'll set it up for you at reasonable prices. I did a private car day trip to Hue and Moon handled it for me.Moon and her staff were attentive at all times of the day and generally joyous when I was around. Laundry was easy as I just went downstairs and someone took care of it for me. The free breakfast was a great start to my days. I'm a fairly simple person so I opted for the omelette and coffee which also comes with vietnamese style load of bread and a side of fruit. I also had an inkling for ginger tea one morning and Moon ended up giving me ginger tea for the rest of my stay without asking! Service is wonderful! By the way, it was real ginger steeped in tea and not the packaged ginger tea (although the packaged teas were great too). Moon and her family made me feel like part of the family. I had some fun talks with her husband who is a joy to talk to. He was always happy to see me! During the stay Moon invited us out to eat a specialty meal in the area! She also made me a full vietnamese family style meal right before I left Hoi An. It reminded me of my family and our family dinners (I'm vietnamese). Finally, I have to mention that Moon's a tailor with a very seasoned eye for details. I felt like a little kid buying so many custom tailored suits, shorts, shirts, and jackets. Oh, and she made shoes! And she does it fast! For the pair dress shoes I had made I picked out the design by finding a picture on the internet and printing it out for her. She took my measurements and the next day I was able to try them on. I made wing tips and a standard oxford. I highly recommend you buy a few things while you stay here. Her prices are extremely reasonable and the quality is top notch. You don't have to worry about making sure the clothes fit as Moon's not going to let pay without it fitting.Overall, I definitely plan on coming back and staying with Moon again. I had a month in Vietnam and I spent my last two weeks with Moon and her family/staff because it was that good!

Home away from home

The owners and staff are so welcoming that I felt at home from the moment I arrived. The rooms are big and clean and breakfast was delicious with several choices.I had some dress shirts and some sun smart shirts tailor made on the premises which was really convenient and the quality was really good. The price was very reasonable for such a lovely place with a pool. This is the best place I have stayed in Asia and I would definitely stay here again.

Ten Out of Ten Again

We stayed at Moon Homestay for the second time recently and honestly couldn't fault it in any aspect. Moon and her family and staff are so hospitable and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are large, clean and every room has a nice ensuite and the air conditioning is good. The swimming pool is clean and such a bonus after a hot day of exploring. There is a selection of breakfast options of either omelette, baguette, fruit and juice or traditional Vietnamese breakfast. The location is great, being an easy bike ride or $2 taxi ride to both Ancient town and the beach, with free push bikes which are well maintained. There are several lovely restaurants, a market and a great spa just around the corner. If that is not enough Moon also runs a tailoring shop on site so you can choose styles and fabrics and have fittings at your leisure. I was so happy with the quality and the price of the clothes we had made as were all the other guests I spoke to. Sometimes the word "Homestay" puts some people off but Moon's is more like a 5 star boutique hotel which charges like a 3 star hotel. I can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to go back.

Moon is the best!

I was planning on staying in Hoi An for 2 days but ended up staying for a week because of the hospitality at Moon Homestay. Moon and her family/staff made me feel more comfortable and welcome than any other place in Vietnam. My room was beautiful and clean with a relaxing balcony, huge bed, powerful air conditioning, a mini fridge and the best shower that I have found in Southeast Asia. Breakfast was simple, fresh and delicious. Each day I rode the bikes provided by the house to the beach and into town at night. I also had some travel clothes made by Moon and her team. 3 perfectly fitting, wrinkle free, stretchy button up shirts and some pants that she made based on my favorite pair. Everybody smiles in this place from staff to guests. I will be coming back to Vietnam just to stay here as part of the family.

Fantastic homestay

We spent 5 nights here (£130 - room for four) and really enjoyed the hospitality of the host (Mrs Moon) and her family/staff. The homestay is located within walking distance of the Old Town area in Hoi An (about 15 min walk) and a taxi ride (£1.50) away from the beautiful beaches (10mins). The Homestay doubles a place of business for the host (dress maker) and obviously a homestay, so it's fair to say that there is a bit of traffic coming through the doors. This can be noticeable when in the pool area, but isn't too intrusive and if, like us, you don't really spend too much time by the pool and instead go out to the beach or old town etc.. it's not a problem at all. There is access to the kitchen, if you so wish, where you can make coffee or cook your evening meals, which some residents did. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the bathroom/shower room was very nice. Powerful, beautiful shower, but be aware that hot water is limited and runs for less than ten minutes at a time, after which, you have to wait for it to warm up again. A slight niggle, but it didn't really matter. There is a nice selection of different breakfasts and we would sit out by the pool and have our breakfast, which was a great start to the day. The homestay staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. If I ever felt I needed something ie. iron, extra pillow etc... it was never a problem. Our room had a balcony, which was great, especially for drying some of our clothes. The swimming pool is rather small and doesn't catch the sun all day, but is a great way for the kids to cool down. They had a laundry service which was about 70p per Kg. I can't say enough about how hospitable the host is, she's always smiling and we really felt at home there. They picked us up at the airport and took us back when we left (shuttle cost £10 each way). I will happily recommend this place and if ever we find ourselves in Hoi An again, we will definitely be spending some more nights at the Moon Homestay. Pros: Great host/staff, incredibly friendly. Clean, spacious rooms and very reasonably priced. Location was great. The Old Town, especially at night, was an amazing place to be. Bright lanterns adorn the streets and there are so many sights, sounds and smells. An incredible place to visit. The beaches are also incredible. Cons: Swimming pool area is not particularly relaxing nor is it always in the sun.

this is the second time I have stayed with Moon and her wonderful staff .Again I was treated as one of the family .Moon was so kind and giving of her time and knowlege about the area ,I was able to rent a motobike off Chan a member of her staff ,so enabled me to ride to the beach every morning .It was really sad for me to leave . thankyou Moon and the moon crew you made my stay wonderful again Tim.

Perfect Place For A Holiday

I am not a B&B kind of person, preferring instead hotels, so even though the Moon Homestay came highly recommended by good friends, it was with a little trepidation that we booked an extended holiday (20 nights) at Moon's. From the moment we arrived, we were very comfortable with the arrangements. The room was big, with its own bathroom and balcony, daily towel change, breakfasts from a great selection, clean, friendly, and a great swimming pool (definitely required as temps were mid-30's), free WIFI. Moon and her family welcomed us with open arms and provided great info on what we shoukd be paying for stuff, we even rented a scooter from Moon's daughter for the duration. Absolutely perfect! Don't be afraid to book, lots of homestays that we saw looked to be of much lower quality - you will be happy with this choice. PS, Moon also runs a tailoring business from the home which is top notch as well. Highly recommended.

Wonderful accommodation and hospitality

Myself, my husband and two children stayed at Moon's Homestay in July this year for 5 nights and absolutely loved our time there. Our family room with two queen-sized beds and bathroom, air-con, TV and bar fridge was spacious, clean and while spartan, was very comfortable. We expected to hear a lot of noise from the Karaoke place across the road on the weekend but it wasn't. Moon and her family and staff are incredibly hospitable, warm and friendly and very helpful with getting us whatever we needed, including unlocking the doors and front gate for me at 5.30am so I could get out to go for a run! Moon also runs her tailoring business from there and my husband had two casual shirts made and I had a pair of shorts and it was very convenient for fittings and for having minor alterations made so that we ended up beautifully constructed items for a bargain price! They offer a limited breakfast menu included in the price which you order the night before and is cooked fresh for you when you come downstairs in the morning. The pool and the grounds are beautifully maintained in spotless condition. Initially we thought the location which is less than 2km from the old town and 3.5km from the beach would be an issue, but in the end we found it perfect for us. It locates you in a clean and quiet local neighbourhood and with the use of the bikes provided free for guest's use, is an easy ride in either direction. Only issue for us one day after a hot day on the beach was a hot cycle back. So the next day (which was even hotter) we paid to use the staff member's motor scooters for the day, which Moon gave to the respective staff members. In all, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable experience staying at Moon's Homestay. While the accommodation is not 5 star the service certainly is! Just don't expect a 5 star experience for a 3 star price and if you want to be away from all the hustle and bustle, you will love Moon's Homestay as much as we did. Highly recommend!

Loved Our Stay with Moon...

We spent 5 nights at Moon Homestay and absolutely loved it. We had a family room with a balcony and we were very comfortable and happy. The pool was welcome relief each day from the exhausting heat, so refreshing and great for the kids. Free bikes to explore the area, yummy breakfast, great restaurants and massage very close and a nice quiet area. Moon and her staff looked after us very well and it was such a bonus having a tailor on site - we purchased many articles of clothing. Thanks heaps Moon, what a perfect place to stay.

Wonderful accommodation, with a pool and tailors!

We stayed at the Moon due to it's situation and because it had a swimming pool. We didn't know they were also tailors. What a great place to stay. The owners are very friendly and also highly skilled tailors. And a lot cheaper than "Be Be"! The bedrooms are large, air-conditioned and in excellent condition with very modern ensuites.Breakfast is included, served by the pool. Bikes provided free and very close to town and the beach. We did not intend having clothes made but couldn't resist due to quality and price. We will probably order more!

Great accommodation and best tailor.

Accommodation: We visited from New Zealand and chose Moon Homestay because of the pool. The rooms were spacious, clean, air-conditioned, private and safe. The pool was clean and refreshing. There are good restaurants and spas within walking distance. The town center is a short taxi-ride (US$2). Moon, the hostess, was very helpful and friendly. This was very good accommodation, and a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Vietnam. Stay for a few days and unwind. I highly recommend.Tailors: We had some suits made at Be Be in the town center; due to the high recommendation on Trip Advisor. We also had a suit made at the tailor shop at Moon Homestay. The Moon Homestay suit was around 40% cheaper than Be Be and was of better quality; the attention to detail was better, the fit was better, and the service was amazing. Do not make our mistake and have your clothes made in town, use the tailor at Moon Villa.

The perfect place to be in Hoi an

The moons is THE Perfect place with the Perfect host. Nice and clean rooms with THE pool and the bikes. But the People's In THE Moon are like angels, sweet and helpfull. Thank you very much. They make Hoi an the Perfect place to us. Great tailoring In house. The Perfect Experience

Fantastic place to stay!

We stayed at Moons for five nights. The rooms are clean and a very nice size. Ask for one with a balcony over the pool they are nice and quite because they are back off the road. Moon is fantastic, she will arrange a taxi or tour for you if you would like and she has a very gentle soul. It is an easy bike into town takes about 10min and to the beach about 15min. If you want to take a taxi into town it is 30 000 dong and to the beach is 50 000. We had a few prices of clothing made by moon and it was so nice to get fitted at 'home' without the hassle of have to go back to town for a fitting. I will be sending business her way when the opportunity arises. She is fantastic.

Moon's is Awesome!

We loved staying at Moon's Homestay. Moon, her family, and staff are so friendly and helpful with everything. Our room (and the whole property) was clean, spacious, and bright. The pool was perfect to cool off after a day roaming around town. The location is between An Bang Beach and the Old Town. We were there with young kids (too young to ride bicycles) and we took taxis most places, which worked fine. Moon or her staff could call them to the front door and they'd arrive in a few minutes. It was about $1.50 to get to Old Town. There's a couple good places to eat within easy walking distance, particularly Tin Tin. Moon made us some amazing clothes while we were there too. We loved the convenience to get fitted and try things on "at home". The included breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Big selection of options each day, both western and Vietnamese.

Cozy place with a great host!

5 of my friends and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was really great! Moon was a really friendly host and extremely helpful. The rooms were very clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. It was such a great feeling coming back home to our place after all day in the sun.She provides both local and international breakfast every morning, and there is a family room area to chill out with your friends.Bicycles were provided as well which I felt was the best way to get around town. It's about a 5-10 minute bicycle ride from the town centre, but the distance is well worth it due to the peace and quiet at night. I highly recommend this place for a lazy relaxed holiday, good place, good host, and good food!

Very kind family, excellent stay!

Moon and her family were extremely welcoming and helpful, making our stay in Hoi An extremely comfortable. Rooms were very clean, shower was great, and the beds were very comfy! The homestay is located 8-10min away from the city centre, but Moon provides bicycles for guests as well, making it very convenient. While there, I made 5 pieces of clothing for work with Moon. They were of top notch quality, and everything was done quickly. Having a tailor downstairs made things extra easy!Definitely recommended.

Serenity in Hoi An

I stayed about a week at the Moon Homestay. I enjoyed my time there - the space was extremely comfortable as a solo traveler in Hoi An to do a bit of work and a bit of relaxing. It was away from the craziness of the packed hotel district, which was very nice. I felt more integrated into the community. It's an easy distance from both the historic town center and the beach. Ms. Moon provides a delectable breakfast in the mornings. There are also bicycles to use free of charge to get around. I would definitely recommend this booking to anyone interested in a relaxing stay in Hoi An. Although I was a single traveler, I would also recommend this for families. I saw a number of families at the homestay and it seemed like the right kind of environment for people with young kinds who love to swim or to hang out (as kids do).

Great Homestay

We stayed at Moon's for 4 nights, our first experience with a home stay and it was excellent. We travelled with our 4 children and had 2 rooms. Kids were in a room next to us, both rooms were very spacious with comfy beds. Breakfast was simple and delicious, loved the warmed up rolls. We had some clothes tailored by Moon, I had 2 dresses made and they look great. Our daughter had her formal dress made, it is stunning and was a good price. We had an issue with my husband having suits made. He had 2 pairs of trousers made then decided to have a suit made.We assumed a suit included the trousers, as it does and price would indicate that and this wasn't the case. We were told afterwards it's just the jacket so make sure sure this is clear if ordering a suit. In the end this was resolved and a small hiccup of our stay. Moon took the time to teach me how to make their chicken rice dish then invited our family and other guests to eat dinner. I would stay here again Moon and staff were lovely, rooms clean and spacious.

Fabulous homestay

My husband (Roy) and I enjoyed a fabulous 5 night stay here at Moon homestay. Moon is lovely (always cheerful) and also the staff - always smiling and friendly. Our room was amazing - a lovely size, really bright and clean and had doors which opened out onto a balcony with a little garden swing, overlooking the pool. We didn't use the pool but would be perfect if you fancied a little cool off at the end of the day. The beds were the most comfortable we slept in during our month in Vietnam - fabulous sleeps here. We used bikes from here to go the Ang Bang beach which took about 15 minutes and would either walk or taxi into the town. Moon measured me up for a pair of trousers (linen) which fit perfectly - no need to be altered. Beautiful breakfasts which we ate outside by the pool other than one wet morning when we ate in Moon's spacious kitchen.Fabulous - cant recommend this homestay enough. Many thanks Moon and Staff - you are such lovely people. Sue and Roy xxps. If you don't want to go into town to eat there is an amazing restaurant nearby called Tin Tin - Really good, delicious food.

Perfect Homestay in perfect Hoi An

stay with Moon was fantastic... definitely a highlight of our time in Hoi An. Breakfast by the pool was awesome, the room was exactly as described and being able to have great quality tailoring done on site was an added bonus. We also enjoyed being able to use the bikes to explore beautiful Old Hoi An. Moon and her staff were great hosts... definitely recommended!

Clean, bright, friendly and reasonable price.

We were traveling as a group of 7 and our stay at the Moon was the first time ever using a homestay. We have travelled Vietnam extensively and I can say without hesitation that our stay at the Moon was the best of any place that we have stayed at. The facility is very clean, with plenty of light and fresh air. The breakfast served is very good and fresh with enough choices that should provide ample options to all tastes. The pool is a decent size, especially for a facility that has 5 rooms to rent. Mrs. Moon and her staff do a wonderful job helping make your stay in Hoi An as enjoyable as possible. She is very good at helping with calling for transportation or tours should that be needed. Her on sight tailoring is wonderful and very reasonably priced. It's very nice to shop for clothing with less pressure than you would get in the shops of Hoi An. Though Moon's Homestay is not right in the middle of the Ancient Town, it's only about a 10 minute walk. The beach is only a short bike ride or cab away. Our stay there was completely satisfying. We will stay there again next time we visit Vietnam. Don't be fooled by the 2 stars or reasonable price, take a chance and give the Moon a try, I'm betting that you will not be disappointed.

A top quality homestay

Our 5 nights could have become 10, we were so comfortable at the Moon. From a generous welcome, to the ever friendly & helpful staff, the quality facilities including a great pool, we relaxed into the homey ambience with pleasure. Great restaurants nearby including Minh's and Tin Tin to the sophisticated Aubergine49 along the road, we totally enjoyed our time here & will can bicycle to the beach, walk into the ancient town with good coffee shops along the way, or you can visit the local market a couple of blocks away. Moon's also organizes tours for you & has a clothes making business on site. Excellent in all respects!

A very nice Place to stay

This palce is as good as it looks in the pics, and was probably the nicest place we stayed on our Vietnam holiday, usually stay in Hotels and no regrets staying here. Moon, the family and the staff are all so genuinely friendly, we wish we stayed a bit longer. We had a huge clean room in the homestay, with the Homestay which is located in the between the beach so a ride on the bikes provided was a pleasure to get around the place.A simple and nice ordered breakfast, alway felt welcomed with out being over the top.The pool was clean and a bonus to cool off.The tailoring service was a bonus if you want some clothes made, there was no pressure to buy. While we were there a very famous TV star was staying in house, so it spels for itself, a top stay.

Best Stay in Vietnam

I was traveling with two friends (all twenty-somethings) and this was by far our favorite stay of our entire trip. Moon is amazing and incredibly welcoming. She took great care of us. The rooms and balconies are absolutely beautiful. She has more than enough bikes to lend to all guests for the day. It's a quick ride into town (10 minutes at the slowest pace). I would highly recommend Moon Homestay and will definitely be returning in the near future. It's worth making a few days in your trip to really enjoy it and all Hoi An has to offer. Also - great wifi!

Trip of a life time

this review is late but I have to say that this home stay was the best we have ever experienced. my wife and I spent 2 weeks at moons homestay. the food was wonderful the rooms were clean and beautiful she provided bicycles for us togo to town. Moon's son winn is really a nice kid he speaks English and he would like to speak to you. all the ladies that work for moon are wonderful they took care of all of our needs I would recommend this home stay over any other that we stayed at. as a side note if you need anything like shirts pants dresses moon is the lady to see she made dresses for my wife and shirts for myself very talented lady. we made very good friends with moon and her family We will miss them and hope to see them again in the future. Craig and Molly Carroll

Excellent homestay

Booked to stay here for 3 nights at the end of Nov & ended up staying 4! Our room was very big with doors opening onto a small private balcony. En-suite bathroom was also very big and both were very clean. Breakfast was cooked to order each morning & very nice. The family have a selection of bicycles for use at no charge which is very useful for going to the beach & also into town. The in-house tailoring was very handy, as the array of tailoring shops in town can be quite overwhelming. My partner & I both had garments made and were very happy with them. Moon cooked us & a few other guests a lovely Vietnamese style dinner on our last evening. This was such a warming touch for us and ended our trip greatly. We would definitely recommend staying here again. Perfection, home from home!Tip: Come out of the home & turn right, first restaurant on the left. Doesn't look very appealing but the food is fab, especially the grilled pork noodles! (Still thinking about them 3 months later!)

Mrs Moon's Tailoring

We had the pleasant experience of staying with Mrs Moon, and decided to have some clothes and shoes made. We loved the shoes and clothes so much we stayed extra days to have a whole wardrobe made. Her work is incredible with quality throughout. Since we've been home everything has laundered or dry-cleaned beautifully. Her shop is full of true artisans. The best part about bespoke clothing is, everything fits perfectly. Forget bargaining in the tourist area of Hoi An, go see Mrs Moon. I know I'm now a lifetime customer.

Great Hospitality and Fantastic Tailoring

a true home stay with a wonderful family , that look after all your needs clean rooms , with a nice wee pool to chill by.The home stay is a 15 minute cycle ride from the beach ( the family have bikes that you can borrow at no cost)Nice restaurants close by and bars really nice place to spend time in Vietnam to really chill out

Beautiful Homestay!

I highly recommend this homestay. The location is decent; about a ten minute walk away from the downtown area. Hoi An itself isn't as crowded as Hanoi or Saigon so the overall vibe of the city is peaceful. Thel lady who owns the place is named Moon and she was absolutely lovely. She made breakfast for us every morning and also did laundry service for cheap. My friend had a problem with her feet being swollen and Moon went out of her way to help her out by lending her some oil treatment to put on her feet and told her to keep it until we checked out. The rooms were spacious and clean, nice bathrooms and each room had a little balcony area too. Airport was about a 25 minute drive away. Moon can set you up with a taxi ride for around $15 USD which is less than what the airport taxi's charged us to get there (they charged $26 USD). I would love to stay there again.

Superb hospitality.

This is one of the most well run guest houses I have ever stayed in. It really feels like being a valued guest in a private house. We made the mistake of only booking 3 days and had to move out after 4 as the place was fully booked. Would return without hesitation.

Moon is the sweetest hostess you'll ever find!

We just stayed at Moon Homestay for 4 nights. Wished we'd booked longer, but sadly, it was already full when we tried to extend our stay. I recommend this wonderful place to anyone. There's even in- house tailoring, and pool.

Great place to stay in Hoi An!

Moon Homestay (or Moon Villas Homestay on AirBnb) is an amazing homestay and the perfect place to stay in Hoi An. Moon and her family are wonderful hosts and we felt so welcomed and comfortable in their home. We stayed on the second floor and the room was large, CLEAN, and had a great bathroom. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfasts each morning and the bicycles, which we used every day to ride into and around town (a quick 3-5 minute ride to old town). Bonuses are the excellent wifi (which we realized was not the case at other places in Hoi An) and the fact that Moon is an amazing tailor! We had several things made for us during our stay and it was so convenient and cheap. We wish we could have stayed longer in Hoi An and with Moon..hopefully we will get to come back soon! :)

This was my first experience of a Homestay ,and what a find !Moon the owner and her delightful staff are always on hand to accommodate anything you require. I was made totally at home and experienced some fantastic food and was even invited to dine with the family .My room was clean large and light. A decent size balcony was a bonus. Good clean swimming pool.Very close to the town (easy to walk ) Moon gave good recommendations for restaurants nearby and also was full of good information regarding places to go and seeMoons happy positivity made this a delightful stay. Thank you also to a very capable and professional staff.A big thank you for making my first Homestay such a great experiance

Great location, clean and spacious rooms

We stayed for 4 nights in a large room with balcony. The rooms are spacious and well equiped with a kingsize bed and a hot shower. The location is great and bycicles are for free. Breakfast is good, especially the omelette with tomato. Wifi is good.

Huge rooms, free bikes, awesome breakfast, lovely hosts!

We had a great time at Moon's home stay. The location was great for us, close to town, not too far from the beach. We didn't miss staying in the tourist part of Hoi An. We were just minutes away by bike and the local scene around the home stay was a lot of fun too. She provides free bicycles, it was so nice to be independently mobile. We went to all of the sights by bike, didn't need to pay for taxi's, and got to see the country side. The rooms are spacious and the hosts gracious. We ate our custom breakfast every morning (about 5 western options and 5 local options) and they prepared it whenever we emerged from our room. I purchased some fabric at the market and Moon, who is also running a full tailoring business, whipped up some pants for me for a very reasonable rate.We stayed six nights and had so much fun. We were even invited to a family feast, it was a sort of remembrance party, all of the guests from the home stay mingled and we got to meet members of Moon's extended family. It was a hoot!

Reach for the Moon

We stayed for a total of six nights and loved it. Owner and all the staff are great and always friendly. Food served for breakfast is top notch, often at the poolside which is so nice. Pool is a great addition when Hoi an is hot, bikes are on offer free of charge. Moon the owner can arrange Denang airport/rail station transfers at a good price if required. If you are interested in getting any tailoring down this can also be done in house. The room we had was large and bright all these great things and only 10 minutes walk into old town.

A Wonderful Homestay

We stayed at The Moon Homestay in Hoi An for a week and we had a very relaxing and enjoyable time thanks to Moon and her very welcoming staff. Moon is a wonderful host who goes out of her way to offer help, make suggestions and make you feel at home. Walking to central Hoi An takes about 10 minutes, really not very far and the location of The Moon Homestay means that you are that much closer to the beach, an easy bicycle ride away. Having use of the bicycles helped us to explore Hoi An and the beaches quite thoroughly. Moon is also a tailor but there is no pressure. My wife loves the two dresses she had made during our stay as well as the slip covers for the wing back chairs. Breakfast was delicious and hearty with a selection of Vietnamese and Western dishes. We loved the tomato and onion omelet and the Vietnamese hamburger. Our room was spacious and clean and air-conditioned with a comfortable king sized bed and an ensuite bathroom. It was great to be able to get our laundry done within the day and Moon kindly gave my wife a super demonstration on how to make chicken rice which we enjoyed that evening along with some other guests. Thank you, Moon. We will certainly book The Moon Homestay in the future. Be careful - There is another place called Moon’s Homestay so don’t be confused. This was our second time in Hoi An and we were so pleased that Moon told us the best way to cycle or walk to different sites. (The previous place we were at for only 3 nights did not direct us at all and we wasted precious time.) We thoroughly enjoyed becoming a part of The Moon Homestay extended family.

Beautiful room and hosts!

I stayed here for 2 nights with my boyfriend and loved every minute of it! The room was big and clean and had everything you needed and we also had an adorable balcony to overlook the neighbourhood. Moon was welcoming and helped us with all our transportation needs, from the free bikes to taxis to airport transfers. The location is close enough to have access to the main shopping strips and the old town but far enough to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre. We had a relaxing and tranquil experience in hoi an and the moon homestay and will definitely be back!

The Moon Homestay was recommended through a friend who raved about his stay there. Upon arrival, we could tell that it would live up to our expectations. Moon and her small, friendly staff welcomed us and immediately made us feel at home. The rooms are big, bright, and pristine. We were able to rent a motorbike from one of the staff for a very reasonable price as well. They also offered a very cheap laundry service. The Moon Homestay not only has great accommodation, but also a wonderful custom tailor service. They will make anything you want from any fabric they have. We had a suit and several shirts made within one day of getting tailored that were affordable and perfectly fitted to our exact specs.Moon is an incredible host that we enjoyed cooking and chatting with during our three night stay. She prepared several meals for us that were delicious and interesting. We got a lot more out of staying with Moon than a normal hotel or guesthouse. The entire staff gave great recommendations for delicious local food and even took us to the market, where we bought big baskets of fresh ingredients to cook with her that afternoon. It was a beautiful experience. Moon was born and raised in Hoi An, so naturally she has a deep appreciation for the city and is able to share some of her personal values with her guests. She took such great care of us that upon our departure, it was quite sad to part ways. I cannot express how grateful I was to come across The Moon Homestay. The people made our brief stay in Hoi An beyond meaningful and completely unforgettable.

Friendly, helpful, caring, great value and fantastic tailor!

I had a wonderful stay with Moon and her staff! She was very helpful with advice about Hoi An and her staff were caring and friendly. Her homestay is a short 5 minute bike ride from the centre of the Old Town and she has free bikes to get around, which was great! The rooms are spacious and you have your own bathroom, which made it seem like a hotel. Another huge benefit is you can get your tailoring done with her. She is a fantastic tailor! Before I stayed with her, I went to another Tailor shop and was disappointed with the results. I had to go back to that shop many, many times for fittings, as the sales lady didn't size me properly since she wasn't a tailor herself, and didn't know what materials would work for the items I requested. When I had Moon make a dress for me, it fit the first time I tried it on! Then I requested other items. I found out after I stayed here that she has over 30 years experience in Tailoring and I will get my tailoring done with her in the future! I suggest you bring an item that you would like to have copied or a picture/idea of what you would like to make. I will definitely come back to stay with her. For the price, friendly service and excellent tailoring, I was glad I stayed here.

Value for money

We stayed for a night and felt the warmth of the hosts. Very kind and friendly. The room was clean and big. You can rent a moto directly with them at a very good price and you can use their bikes for free to get around town.

Excellent tailor service on site

I had some work clothes tailored with Moon and am very happy with the result. I took a pair of pants, jacket and top and she not only reproduced them, but improved the fit. I got 4 pants, 4 tops, a jacket and a dress alteration completed. The quality of the fabrics was very good and she has a huge choice. As a trained fashion designer myself I can vouch for the quality of the construction and cut. All the clothes were made in a day. Not the cheapest in town, but good value as the garments are of excellent quality and I will wear for years to come. Thanks Moon and team, I am very happy.

Very nice

I enjoyed my stay very much. The room had two big windows and a small veranda. It was a bit further from the old town than I expected but they have free bikes available which makes for a 5 minute ride. The pool was nice and the breakfast tomato omelet was superb. Not any restaurants very nearby but with the bike availability, that is not a problem at all. Helpful staff as well.

Best place we stayed in Vietnam!

This is a great place to stay! We booked a triple room here for 3 nights and it was the best place we stayed on our 2-week Vietnam trip. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable - but the best thing about this homestay is the service. Every day, we woke up to a great breakfast (choice of Western and Vietnamese dishes) served by the poolside. Even though the menu stated that breakfast would only be served between 7:30 and 10:30, 2 out of 3 times we had it outside of these hours (once at 6:00 when we had to leave for a morning flight, and once at 12:00 after a late night out) - and this without even asking (we really didn't expect to still get breakfast at 12!). Bicycles were free to use which meant getting to Hoi An town (a 5-10 bicycle ride) was a breeze. Whenever we needed something, Moon was always very helpful: for instance when there was a short power outage in town, she got right to us with backup battery-powered lamps; we were allowed to use her computer to check-in for our flight and print boarding passes; she arranged a private car to pick us up and take us to Da Nang airport for a much lower price than metered taxis. It might have been a bit more expensive than other places in Hoi An (although not by much if you compare it to places of a similar standard) - but both the rooms and the service more than make up for that and in the end it's a great value. In short - a great place to stay in Hoi An!We stayed here in a group of 3 friends in September 2014.

Home away from home!

Lovely lovely place to stay! The rooms felt clean and bright and the building felt maintained to a good standard. The lady who runs the homestay (Mrs. Moon) and her staff could not be more welcoming, they were extremely kind, patient and helpful! Always had smiles on their faces and welcomed us warmly. Breakfast was simple but very good and nice to take by the pool. The homestay is well located in between the beach and a short ride into the old town of hoi an. I would also highly recommend the local restaurant Tin Tins (the homestay should have some info) for delicious local food at a good price and served by friendly staff. The homestay can also provide with information on local tours, they provide a detailed local map and also provide bicycles free of charge to residents! The price was at the higher end of what we would usually pay for a homestay but we really felt we got what we paid for and couldn't recommend highly enough!

Wonderful Hoi An

We had some wonderful days in Hoi An staying at the moon homestay. The staff is very sweet, helpful and attentive. The owner even made sure that I still get my morning coffee although we departed at 4am.The rooms are very clean and the beds super comfortable, the whole buidling is pretty and everything is taken well care off. Breakfast was also very good.If i go back to Hoi An I will certsinly stay there again. Thanks again for the wonderful experience.

Best in town

The host a lady called Moon is one of the nicest people we met in Vietnam. She took real good care of us. Her house is very modern and has a nice pool. Moon provides bikes and it's only a 5 min cycle to the center of hoi an. The rooms are big, clean and nicely decorated. Moon is an excellent Taylor who makes suits and dresses for a top class shop in England. She made me a lovely suit for only 170 dollars (two shirts included). I was really glad that we stayed there and I wood recommend it to everybody!

Adorable spot in hoi an

This homestay is absolutely adorable, the location is perfect, 2 minutes walking distance from the fabulous old town, the neighborood of the hotel itself is cute and alive. The family running the place is very very sweet and will take care of all your needs including booking tours and tickets. Rooms are spacious and clean, homecooked breakfast is included and as vegans we got to indulge in a wide selection of local fruits. Definitely reccomended!

Best place I've stayed!

I couldn't fault this homestay one bit..Moon is so friendly & helpful. She really tries to make you feel welcome & at home. We booked 2 nights & was pleased with the close to beach & the market. The bikes are of great quality & you're allowed to take them anytime you want. The breakfast is lovely & the baguettes are always fresh. We caught the bus at 1pm to Hue & Moon said we could keep our room until then for no extra charge. I've been travelling Asia for 8 weeks & this is one of the best places to stay. Highly recommend

Great B&B, friendly and helpful Owner

We really enjoyed our stay at Moon's. She was super friendly, helpful and there are bicycles you can rent for free (and as the ancient town is not around the corner, they really are helpful)! The rooms were nice, pretty decorated and clean, the a/c worked fine and there is really nothing bad to say about the place.

Fly me to the Moon

The Moon Homestay was fantastic! It's located just a few minutes from the heart of Hoi An. They make fresh breakfast every morning. They even tailored a dress from scratch within the 2 days we stayed there. Use the bikes to wander around the town, or, If your looking for other tourist activities, they'll make the arrangements for you. Don't forget your bus ticket!

Best accomodation in Vietnam

Lovely spot in the quieter, but still close-in area of Hoi An. Right between the nicest beach and the old town. Easy biking distance. The rooms are modern, spacious and very comfortable and the pool is a real treat. Moon's tailoring services are excellent and we're having a variety of clothes made. My 18 year old son was ill while we were here. Moon helped me by preparing special food and drinks to aid in his healing. It would have been hard to find a restaurant or store to make the things he needed, but Moon opened her kitchen and made it easy. Moon really made a difference and helped us feel at home.

Warm and relaxing family stay

Moon was very welcoming, friendly and helpfu - as we're all the staff. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The lounge area and pool were just perfect for our children.Breakfast was cooked upon request.Overall a really lovely, relaxing and great value place to stay, thank you Moon.

The One and Only Moon Homestay

This is the ‘original and best’ Moon Homestay. Others may use the name but Moon Homestay is the place to stay. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in a spacious double room overlooking the pool with a large bathroom attached. Moon and family are very friendly and offer a pleasant and welcoming homestay in Hoi An, away from the hustle and bustle of the old town yet only a short walk/ ride away. Only a couple of kilometres to An Bang beach, free bike hire, yummy breakfasts with a choice of local or western foods and to top it off there is a useful tailor on the premises. I had a few items made and the quality was first rate. Moon has a good eye for tailoring so you will be very happy with the results. We loved having a refreshing dip in the swimming pool and we can thoroughly recommend Moon Homestay for your Hoi An accommodation.

Great Homestay

Great stay. Very clean and tidy rooms. The tailoring is also great, although the prices are a bit higher than expected after reading several blogs and forums. Paid $150 for 3 piece suit, 25 per shirt, 50 for shoes. Although a lot more convenient than running to some shop several times during the stay. Also helps you ship clothes back home if needed.Unfortunately her subcontractor on making my shoes did a poor job, resulting in broken shoes after 1 week. Moon kindly apologized and refunded me within days of my email about the matter. Would stay there again

Nice homestay, 10 mins walk from the ancient town

It was a nice homestay 10-15 mins walk away from the ancient town. The room and the bathroom were well-prepared and clean. It is not the best location since it is not so close to the ancient town and there are not many restaurants/stores/bars around it, but still it is located in a quiet area and not too far from the ancient town. They also rent bikes if you want to look around the town. It is a 'homestay' not a 'hotel', so they don't have many rooms but it was what made the place feel like home. You can also ask for a taxi to the airport at 300,000VND.

Brilliant place to stay in Hoi An

Can only agree with all the other positive reviews. Such a laid-back friendly atmosphere. Huge rooms with balcony for our double room. Very clean. Pool a really great addition which we used several times a day. We had many clothes made, with amazingly accurate copies of some of our own clothes. I even had a dress converted into a skirt for $5. Perfect location too. Thank you.

Home from home

Like staying with a friend or relative, lovely English speaking family who cannot do enough for you. Large rooms and so very clean with AC, big windows for fresh air and great showers. Swimming Pool and free bikes. TV in all the rooms and Good wifi throughout. Breakfast Vietnamese style is fetched from the market as soon as you order alternatively omelette, coffee, tea and juices are available from the family kitchen. Mrs Moon always has a big welcoming smile for you. Just 15 minutes ride to the beach along flat roads or 5 minutes to the town centre. You can walk to the Ancient Town in just 10 to 15 minutes. They will do your laundry for $1 and can organise scooter rental for just $5 per day. It's just a perfect place to stay for a very reasonable price, great value and as good as many 4 and 5 star hotels in Vietnam but with a whole load of friendliness and personality through in. You would be crazy to miss the opportunity to stay here with this amazing family, don't bother looking elsewhere.

This place is brilliant. The quirky mix of tailor shop and homestay is great and the rooms are really clean and spacious. The owner (Moon) and her husband are very friendly and allowed me to watch football on their tv.The bikes she provides are very handy and the pool is a great place to chill out from the sun.Located between the beach and the Old Town this place was brilliant.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay!

We stayed at Moon Homestay for 3 nights in July with some friends. We needed three rooms and Ms. Moon put us in three rooms together on one floor so we had the whole floor (including a living room area) to ourselves! The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and breakfast was simple but very good! We had our 8 month old son with us who can be a bit fussy at night but the rooms had thick walls and no one said they could hear him at night which helped us relax even more. Moon even invited us to join her for dinner one night when she cooked the delicious Hoi An specialty Cao Lau.Moon has a small tailor shop located in her house and she employs extremely talented tailors. The prices are slightly higher than you might find in town but the quality is so much better! There are free bikes to use to get around town and Moon is always happy to give recommendations, call a taxi or schedule a tour for you. We found that the van she scheduled to bring us back to the airport was cheaper and more roomy than the one we took on the way to Hoi An! The pool is really nice as well and definitely an added bonus.Thank you to Moon, her family and her amazing staff for making our stay in Hoi An so wonderful!

Friendliest woman you'll meet

6 of us stayed here in May splitting 2 triple rooms. Moon, our hostess was extremely friendly! The home stay is located about 15 mins walk from the centre of the town and bikes can be rented from the home stay for free. The pool is a nice touch also :)

Loved it to the Moon and back

We stayed at Moon Homestay for 4 nights and from the moment we arrived we felt completely at home and welcome. Our room was big, clean and light with comfortable bed. You choose your own breakfast and fresh juice which is simple and nice, and served in family kitchen or pool side. It was great to have the use of good quality bikes with lights to ride to town or the beach, day or night. I loved the convenience of having clothes made at Moon's onsite tailoring business. Moon phoned Easyrider for us and arranged for them to come to the hotel to discuss a trip we wanted to do to Dalat, and she helped us out when we had trouble with our credit card. We were planning to continue south after Dalat but we are now flying back to Hoi An to enjoy the last two weeks at Moon Homestay. Thanks to the lovely Moon and her ever so helpful husband and staff.

Great place to stay

We stayed here for 5 nights and Mrs Moon and her team were so lovely. We arrived on a very early flight and even though we couldn't check in, Mrs Moon very kindly let us chill out in the lounge area and use the shower in one of the rooms, it was so appreciated. The room was big and spacious, the very much needed aircon was quiet enough to have on even at night so that was great. The shower was lovely but the seal was bit dodgy so the floor got bit soaked but only small inconvenience. It would have been nice to have the bins emptied and floors cleaned and that but again only small thing. Its a bit outside of town but they have bikes you can use to get in. The pool was great to cool down in the afternoons.Overall great stay and would recommend

Best homestay in Hoi An. Just like home.

I first book this hotel for 2 nights as I was supposed to stay only for few days in Hoi An.But I end up staying 6 nights. It was hard to leave Hoi An and specially this wonderfull hotel.Moon, the owner, made me feel like a home. She is so kind and friendly.Always helping me with any request. Every day welcome you with a big smile. The house is quite new, the rooms are super big, clean and confortable.Aircon, wifi, tv, pool, good breakfast. The location is also good, just 5 min on the bike to the old town. She also is an excellent taylor, just on the reception you will find the workshop. This is by far the best place I stayed during my trip in Vietnam.Thank you Moon, and hope to see you soon.

Moon to rule the night!

Moon is a wonderful person who makes your stay at her luxurious homestay that bit better! She also tailored me an amazing cashmere suit which is fit to wear at my own wedding and a pair of boots to go with it!Her nephew Michael (Phuc) is the nicest tour guide in town and has a fleet of EasyRider motorbikes to take you through the Hai Van pass all the way to Hue in style...I have so many positive things to say about my time there but I guess you should really just go and create your own lovely memories from there X

Hard to leave, we felt so much at home

Absolutely loved this place, the staff are so friendly and your treated like family, Mrs Moon (the owner) is so much fun and cheerful, she always has a smile to welcome you and when chatting. Great English and perfect hospitality. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, spent a lot of time relaxing in the pool. Free bicycles to use and Mrs Moon even lent us her scooter to get around. You have to also, whilst there, get some suits or clothes make up, in just 2 days we got 2 suits and other clothes all taylor made at the home stay. Can't wait to visit again!!

Fantastic place to stay

Fantastic guest house. Rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are very comfortable! Host is extremely attentive and cannot do enough to help. We ended up staying 6 nights in total. Excellent facilities including a pool, free bicycles and cheap motorbike hire. The staff here were fantastic, they helped organise any transportation / tours we wanted without being pushy. The location is slightly out of the centre was perfect for us as it was quieter and closer to the main road leading to the beach. Would recommend to anyone travelling to Hoi An

amazing homestay & best tailor in town

We spent 5 nights at moons homestay. The comfortable beds, large rooms, great fruitshakes served with breakfast and the friendly staff makes this place perfect. But the best thing is that you have very talented tailors in the house. You don't have to worry about price, quality, fitting, etc. I made 3 suits, 15 shirts and 5 t-shirts. I had some designs only on pictures - they copy it perfectly! This is definitely the place to go!

Best accomodation during over 6months-journey

We are travelling Southeast Asia for 6 months and we have been sleeping in several hotels, hostels, homestays and resorts, but this one is the best place we've stayed so far! Only good things about this wonderful place:- good e-mailcommunication in English before arrival- only 5 minutes away from the busstation; we took a taxi for only 25000 Dongs- Warm welcome; a smiling owner and staff- A super room; spacious, clean, poolview, big bathroom, AC, flatscreen tv, fridge and a huge soft bed- Good homely vibe- nice and quiet in the night- nice spots to chill and sit at the pool and in 'the lobby'- Tailor indoor! the owner has been a tailor for already 30 years; she can make any costume, dress or shirt you like! Takes time for you, good advise and help... we had good fun choosing fabrics, design, etc... Good honest price as well- free bicycle; downtown is closeby...only 5 minutes per bicycle- and Hoi An is beautifulll!!!!seriously a very very nice place to stay!

Lovely people great hotel perfect location

Loved my time at moon's really clean with very spacious rooms and my bed was massive and really could have fitted 10 people in it..big bathroom with awaterfall shower..and all for a reasonable price..they even have a pool..they supply free bicycles which was a really fun and easy way to get around..about 5 mins to the town centre and 10-15 mins to the beach..the lady who owns the hotel is so nice she makes clothes and I got her to make me a dress..i was happy with it and it was just 40,000 dong..she's such a nice lady. One night I didn't come back to the hotel and stayed with other friends..she was so worried about where I was. Hotel has everything you want with great hospitality.

Nice Rooms

Nice location, not too much noise around. Easy cycle to the town or An Bang Beach. The rooms are modern and clean with large bathrooms. The room let in a lot of light in the morning making it hard to sleep past 7am and the room got quite warm from the morning sun. Maybe some lining on the curtains would fix this problem. We also had a problem with them changing the bin and refreshing the amenities in the bathroom. Also the floor in the room could have done with a sweep and mop every few days to keep it clean. The family seemed friendly enough but didn't interact much at all. Maybe they are more friendly with people that also get clothes tailored through them but they should understand that not everyone comes to Hoi An to shop. The pool is small but big enough to take a refreshing dip to cool off from the afternoon heat. The free bicycles are great and allows you to go around the area without difficulty. Also taxi to town is about $2 if you find it too hot to cycle. Our stay here was nice but with a few improvements from the owners this place could be amazing!!

Beautiful Moon!

I had the pleasure in staying at The Moon Homestay for 7 nights. As a seasoned traveller that likes getting to know the locals and their culture this was the perfect place to stay.Moon was there to greet us at the door on arrival and welcomed us with open arms and a huge smile. She could not have been more accommodating. Moon relishes in making you as comfortable as possible and all you need to do is ask and your wish will be granted. As I had never done a homestay before ( Usually I stay in the cheaper range hotels) I didn't know what to expect. My spacious, comfortable bedroom was as good as any hotel if not better than some. Clean, comfortable spacious and it's double doors opened up onto a beautiful balcony where I could sit and enjoy a cool drink in the evening. The bathroom was clean and had great water pressure!!! Nice bathrooms are a must!As I was travelling with 2 other friends we all had bedrooms on the same floor with our own lounge area, it was quite private if we needed time out.The lounge also housed the Karaoke machine where on our last day we had a lot of fun with Moon and her wonderful staff. The pool was a welcomed sight at the end of very hot days of touring. It was cool, clean and well maintained. The breakfasts in the morning was all that I needed to set me up for a good days start. It is not an extensive menu but I am happy with eggs and fresh warm baguettes. Followed by fresh fruit and a selection of Tea or Coffee.Moon also runs her tailoring business from here so I took the opportunity to have a coat, some casual tops and skirts made. The results were wonderful, I couldn't be happier with my new wardrobe. Each evening I was spoilt with an in room massage by Trang. She is employed by Moon as a Jack of all trades. She sews, cleans, cooks and I am sure would be able to put her hands to any thing. When I found out she gave massages I was only too happy to give her a try. Trang was wonderfully professional. Her small but magical hands quickly relieved the days stress and set me up for a relaxing nights sleep. Try her facial reflexology as well.... fantastic. We became part of the extended family very quickly as Moon made sure we had every thing we needed and made us feel like we were at home.It was wonderful to share a delicious home cooked lunch with them all as they were celebrating Labour Day in Vietnam while we were there and very kindly invited us to join. It was a perfect opportunity to watch some local cuisine being cooked and to taste not only the food but also be part of the cultural celebration. It is a short walk into the Old Town and about a 4 km bike ride to the beach. The traffic is frantic so be aware of the dangers on the road. But for this 55 year old who hadn't ridden a bike in some time it was an easy 4 km as I took it slow. Or if you are brave there are plenty of motor bikes to rent.We also found some good local restaurants in the neighbourhood to eat at. Just ask Moon as she will point these out to you.I would like to thank Moon and all her staff for a wonderful stay. I would most definitely stay here again if or when I return.

best homestay ever

I have just showed my wife the beautiful suit I had made by moon and her wonderful staff. I have been treated to such a fantastic experience staying at this luxurious homestay ,more like a 5 star hotel.with 5 rooms. we were treated like kings and queens ,moon cannot do enough for you.also tran`s massage was excellent, and she will rent her motorbike out very cheaply. we had a great day at the secret waterfalls with all the staff and friends from the homestay which was also an awesome experience. all in all recommend it highly. moon we love you..

Lovely place

The Moon Homestay is a really lovely place. It's in a good area, 10-15 minutes walk into the ancient city. Also, free bikes are provided. The room was very clean, spacious and has comfortable beds. We had breakfast on each morning which included fresh fruit. Moon is helpful and friendly. She helped us to book a bus to go to our next destination. She is also a great tailor and offers sewing which is done from her home. She made me two beautiful dresses for a good price. There are no pressure sales, but if you need new clothes bring a picture and she will made it for you. I would recommend the Moon Homestay to anyone visiting Hoi An.

Great stay in March

My mother and me have been travelling through whole Vietnam and we made a 3 day stop in beautiful Hoi An! By coincidence we ran into this amazing place and after qick talking to the owner we checked in for two nights! The house is really great! Big rooms with very comfortable beds, super clean and good looking bathrooms with nice furniture and it was quiet all the time! The owner and the employees were friendly and smiling all the time and tried to help as best as they could! The breakfast was tasty, but a lil bit boring because they didnt have much to choose. And also swimming in the pool was relaxing and refreshing.I can definetely recommend this beautiful place for a stay! Its totally wort it!

Lucky Me

On arrival at Hoi An, I realised the Moon Homestay was not in the old quarter, (that's Moon's homestay) and this is Moon Homestay - very confusing but after viewing both, I opted to stay where I was. The 3 storey house is airy and spacious with a sweeping staircase, Moon's workroom and kitchen on ground floor, 3 rooms per level with a balcony on each floor overlooking the pool. The bedrooms are enormous with high ceilings, aircon and a large bathroom.Lucky me for landing here, the location was good, bikes provided and in 5-10 mins I could ride to the hub of restaurants, shops and sights in the old town and the other way the beach is a 15 min ride with a welcome breeze on a hot day. As I was travelling alone, I had chosen a homestay to ensure I had people around. Moon, her family and staff were delightful, gracious and fun. Moon provided me with support and wise counsel when I got myself into a pickle with the notorious market women. She is a gifted and talented tailor, has an eye for detail and is competitively priced.I stayed here for 5 days and would confidently recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to stay with a respectful family in a spacious and comfortable homestay. Very special!! Lucky me

Amazing service and quality, just perfect !

Next time i go to Hoi An, i will not think about place to stay, it will always The Moon Homestays. I really love this place. The room is so beautiful, big and comfortable with convenience bathrooms. The owner and staff is really kind and friendly. The owner is also a great tailor and she have a little shop here. The suit and t-shirt here is so amazing. I have ordered three of them and i never want to take off, everything fits perfectly.

Great stay in Hoi An

It's no surprise that all the views are great. The Moon Homestay is a really lovely place. We stayed in a deluxe room with balcony which was big, nicely decorated and had (a real plus for me) a nice big and powerful shower! Moon herself is a lovely host. I got a little sick whilst in Hoi An (most likely from food in Hue where we where previously) and Moon was quick to provide a few much needed medications. Bikes are free to hire and it's a quick 5-10 min ride into the ancient city or 15 mins to the beach. The Moon Homestay is also a taylor and provide much more reasonable prices than some of the other quotes we received from elsewhere. My girlfriend got some silk pajamas made which she seems pretty happy with. One tip to add: we arrived at the Hoi An bus station and got a taxi. Taxi driver quoted told us it was a long way and quoted $5. It wasn't a long way! Less than a 5 min drive so you should be able to get away with negotiating to half of what we paid. As a comparison, Moon organised a taxi for us to Danang airport for when we left. It's a 45 min drive and cost us $15. Other 'travel agents' quoted $45!!The Moon homestay is a lovely place for your time in Hoi An and you'll leave with at least some Dong still in your wallet!

Amazing stay!

I can't say enough of this place and Moon, our host. The rooms are bright, fresh, airy with lovely decor and beautiful bathrooms. The beds and pillows so comfortable. Our breakfasts were delicious. But that is just the basics. Moon is continuously gracious, kind, helpful and friendly. From arranging transports from the airport or bringing in scooters when we want them. She also offers sewing which is done from her home. There are no pressure sales, but I was thrilled with the options and anything I would sketch out came back like I imagined. Bring a picture or chose one of her many options. A better deal than some prices in town and I was pleased with the quality. My husband's four shirts fit perfectly as well. I was traveling with my husband and 16 year old daughter so we enjoyed the pool and were thankful for the big rooms and sitting area. We had so much fun we extended our stay from 4 to 6 nights. Moon's English is very good and we even enjoyed cooking together. Moon, we will miss you. One of our best deals on our 9 weeks of travel so far.

The best ever

Like the other reviews, I would also strongly recommend this homestay. You really do feel like it is a home, and Moon goes out of her way to make sure that you are well looked after. When I was sick, she brought me ginger tea's and comfort. It is quiet, the rooms are beautiful and spacious, they have free bikes. Close to the Old Quarter, and also a 15 min bike ride to a beautiful beach.

My friend and I checked in this place as we wanted a hotel not in the city but close enough. The rooms are really big and got cleaned everyday. They even tidied up and you would get fresh towels as well. Our attached bathroom was gorgeous and you had a really big waterfall shower. The staff was gorgeous they would always greet with a big smile and would do nearly everything to keep you happy. They have breakfast with western and Vietnamese food which is nice. As the city is about 1km (5 mins on the bike) away you would get free bikes. Also we booked 5 nights but decided to only stay 4 and they didn't charged us for it. Would highly recommend it as everything was just fantastic and the staff really care.

Really friendly homestay felt like part of the family

Me and my boyfriend stayed here originally for 2 nights and ended up staying for 5 as it was so nice. Moon was the most welcoming and helpful hostess you could of wished for and by the end of our stay we almost saw her as our Vietnamese mother! She gave us cooking lessons and invited us to lunch and dinner which was very nice. I also went swimming with her in the morning in the sea which was rather cold at that time in the morning! But I enjoyed every moment of it and really felt that visiting Moon Homestay we really got a taste for the Vietnamese culture. The room was lovely, very clean and spacious with our own balcony which we had breakfast on each morning and fresh fruit each day. We really loved our stay here it was our favorite stay in the whole of Vietnam. The whole family is really lovely and will do anything to make sure your happy in your stay. I would highly recommend to anyone to stay here and we would most definitely stay here again.
