Loved it! Went in as a walk in, no wait, not crowded, we felt comfortable with the distance to other tables. Food was outstanding, delicious. I had the Salmon my friend had the Bronzino. Service was awesome, everyone was nice. Parking was a bit difficult but that is expected because of the area. Temperature checks at the door which is good to see.
We have waited for Piccola Venezia to reopen weve called and drove by many times we were so happy to see them open and as usual we weren't disappointed the food is as delicious as it has always been we cant wait for them to fully open so we can sit at a table and the atmosphere music food and drinks thank you Roberto for reopening and sharing your delicious food with us again
Fabulous, classic Italian-American food. Great value. The food and service are outstanding. Great for our large group. Every dish from start to finish was superb. Bring your appetite, and your family, and your friends. One of the best Italian restaurants in New York — not trendy, not “instagrammable” — just great food well-served. A classic. Don’t miss it.
I haven’t been here in a couple of years but I have to honestly say that I was very happy that I went back ! My family and I were pleased from the moment we walked in the door. The owner welcomed us with a warm greeting the bartender made great cocktails and the waitstaff and the food was top notch.
Totally old school and I loved it!!!
I came here for dinner during an overnight in New York. The place is only about 20 minutes from LaGuardia airport so it was very convenient to get to.
I made a reservation but at 7:30 on Tuesday I didn't need one. They weren't busy.
The staff was incredibly helpful. The atmosphere and treatment is that of a classic Italian restaurant. Hospitality is a big part of the meal. We were given bruschetta and olives for the table after menus. My water never went under 3/4 full all night.
I had the pumpkin ravioli and they were superb. They had a light flavor mostly overwhelmed by the cream sauce, but that sauce was heavenly so it was okay. My mother in law raves about her osso bucco.
The place is Spendy, but you can order half portions and that'd make the place much more affordable and you wouldn't go hungry. I didn't finish my full size.
I'd recommend when in The area.
Have been 2 this restaurant the Piccola Venezia in Astoria Queens quite a few times with a friend y a group of friends 4 special occasions or just going out 2 eat All the times just been absolutely awesome, food is just totally been delicious y perfect, the location y service is just great 4 Italian food as 1 of my all-time favorites 4 food, give Piccola Venezia an outstanding performance with everything from their services y menu if ever come back in the area will make every effort 2 come back Highly recommend Piccola Venezia if ur out on a date or with friends- Danny S
Ok I'm not gonna count the lackluster service against the restaurant, as it was late on NYE and the manager said they were short staffed.
I've lived down the block for the last 5 years, but due to my upbringing I do t just try an Italian place, I feel I need someones recommendation i truly trust before i try.
My friend said he had an amazing meal, and I'm glad I decided to wait to try for a special occasion.
My girl, two of our closest friends, and I all had an amazing meal.
The grilled and fried octopus were excellent warm ups, and the prosciutto di Parma with melon made a great way to start the meal.
Quick tip, if you're going for pasta, try 2x half portions so you can try more than 1 dish. The stuffed buco was hands down the winner of the night
The chicken and veal dishes were also excellent choices.
And while so.e may find the prices a little overwhelming the quality and portions make it forget about the dinero.
Old.world Italian meets great service! Go there the first time, and they make you feel like a regular Generous drink pours all add up to a truly memorable time. Valet parking for no hunting for a place to park.
What a great place. I was invited to a family dinner here. It's an old time Italian Restaurant with great food. All the waiters are dressed in red vests and are wonderfully friendly and accommodating. The food is first rate with standard menu and specials. The decorum is traditional Italian. Loved it.

There is an indicator of $ 3 for this restaurant, it is actually up to what is sold. However, we were unable to consult the price of aperitifs, some dishes were not priced and tips ...
Employees were unwelcoming from the start, at the limit of aggression at times. Is this the idea that these people are Italian?
As long as we speak of Italians, the food is strangely uneven. The main element is perfectly cooked (squid, meatball, fish, etc ...) But the pasta, but then the pasta .... Surcuit, on the verge of disintegrating, I do not hide that it spoils a little all.
Finally I come back on the tips, the American method is difficult to assimilate for us, we still tried to always respect our server and give an amount that seemed right. In this restaurant, as indicated the waiter was aggressive limit and he did not hesitate to moan about the amount of the tips, we left with 10% of the note, he urged 25% ... 25% ... But he did not even deserve the 10%.
Flee this restaurant, there is so much more affordable and enjoyable than this move.

We ask the map of aperitifs and wines, the waiter tells us that he does not have any but that he has everything. So we order two glass of wine and a whiskey without price ... Bad surprise at the note, the glass of whiskey was $ 30, we could have been warned but good pass again.
The waiter then gave us the wine list since we did not want to order a bottle without having the choice ... Map he could have given us at first, but we would have taken a bottle and maybe not the two previous glasses ... nice!
The food was good but the overcooked pasta, what we could tell (experience of friends who went to the United States) is their way of cooking pasta. But hey ... it's an italian restaurant!
The waiter was a little nervous at the end of the meal when we asked if they had candles for a birthday, they even sang Happy Birthday.
At the end, the waiter whom we had left $ 25 of tip despite the events I just mentioned dared to ask for more (he wanted 20% of the bill, or more than $ 50).
I know that the United States servers are paid with what is left by customers, but it has already had more than the majority of servers that we have indeed left at least 18% of the score for a good service less good !
My wife and family raved about the homemade pasta and my fish was pretty good. However, I cannot give it more than 3 stars because they seemed confused about my celiac's and struggled to make something that was safe for me to eat. Eventually we got there and I did not get sick, but they really should know more about this.
Everyone in here knows what they sell. Amazing service and outstanding food. I would recommend this for a nice night out (relax or date) to full blown events with the family/friends. You will not be disappointed! Incredible.
The waiter is terrible and Very rude I received was a high end bill with terrible quality food. I had ordered Scampi Adriatico with pasta and a side of Broccoli Genateé. The shrimp was rubbery and the pasta was tasteless. The broccoli that was given to me was as if they were feeding an animal in a barn
Old school Italian dinners served here
Not your " Italian American Italian cuisine ".
Go on Wednesday they don't rush you out and you get to enjoy the old school Italian Sunday afternoon meal.
Just like Mom's Mom's.
Eat Drink and Enjoy the experience.
This is a truly old-school restaurant, where the head waiter will come greet you, and the decor is a throw-back. The food is quite good, and they are really accommodating, so you can order with adjustments from the menu. It's a comfortable space, in that you will not feel crowded with your neighbor. The wait staff are seasoned professionals. The complementary bruscetta and cookies for dessert are on point! My polpetti were sadly a little dry, but my papardelle main was outstanding. My friend loved his branzino.
Unfortunately, I had taken my mother here for her birthday. I had expected high end italian food but all I received was a high end bill with terrible quality food. I had ordered Scampi Adriatico with pasta and a side of Broccoli Genateé. The shrimp was rubbery and the pasta was tasteless. The broccoli that was given to me was as if they were feeding an animal in a barn. My mother had ordered grilled chicken which had no taste and all that was on the plate was 2 small pieces of chicken. My father had ordered short ribs that tasted stale and the gravy served tasted as if it was heated in a microwave. I am truly sad that for my mother's birthday I had brought her to this place. I do NOT recommend going to this establishment, you will be left with an empty belly and an empty wallet. Truly a horrific experience.
Had metal in my shrimp dish and the guy didn’t even apologize! Stay away from this place-go for pizza instead. This was a disgusting experience and no one even offered us a dessert or an after dinner drink. Some guy came over with a big smile on his face and acted as if nothing happened. Time for this place to disappear! It’s had its run.
If u want top notch Italian cuisine come here. Waiters are old school professional servers with class. The feel is very family oriented and when u there you will have just the most comfortable experience. Go there!!!!
We went to this restaurant for my wife's birthday. Little pricey but wanted to celebrate. However when we received our main dish of ravioli, we found an aluminum coil from a washing sponge in our dish. When we called our server he said, "What do you want me to do? It happens when you wash dishes but it's not inside of your food." But I picked it up from inside my wife's ravioli. It was disgusting, but I didn't want to ruin my wife's birthday dinner. When we got our bill, they still charged us for everything. If you want to be a high quality restaurant take responsibility. I still don't understand why they think it's okay to charge their customer for their mistake and carelessness.
Must to go place, great Italian restaurant, most authentic you can find in town. The appetizer list is amazing, they serve "tortellini in brodo" a really authentic and regional norther Italian food and the grill octopus is to die for. fresh seafood in the special all the time, great wine list and huge portion (a half portion of past is available and good enough for an adult). If you are in Astoria you need to go.
The food is good, but the service not so much. I ordered the primo size. The waiter even asked if I wanted the apetizer size and I confirmed that yes, I wanted the small portion. I was charged for the big size and asked him about it. He argued with me and said that primo is the large size, and the menu was right in front of us saying that primo was the starter size. I would say the food is a 3.5, but the service a 1 for my experience.
On Saturday evening 07/14/2018 we celebrated our Sister Elaine's Birthday. It was one fabulous evening, the food and drinks were incredibly delicious and the service was Stellar. The Rack of Lamb melts in your mouth. I would recommend Piccola Venezia to anyone looking for great food and service. Shout out to Amy, a Friday regular for the recommendation.
First of all...Excellent food. From appetizers to entrees, deliciously prepared, never anywhere close to disappointing. Their seafood dishes were amazing. A must try. And second...great staff, great service, 5 stars.
You simply cannot score better than a 3 when the lasagna was cold in the middle. That faux paus would rate two stars if not for the welcoming atmosphere and excellent service. Grilled octopus was the highlight. Salad was not worthy of mention. Would give them another shot based on unfulfilled promise...and proximity to LGA.
Service was great, rotating team of very attentive staff, amazing pasta fagioli, entrees were delicious. Only thing keeping this from 5 stars was we had made a reservation and they didn't have a table saved and stuck us on a high traffic aisle next to a rowdy party. Definitely will go back though!
Great service and wonderful food everytime I have been here. PV makes my favorite Italian dish of all time, Buccoloni, osso bucco stuffed tortellini with an osso bucco wine sauce. This dish is worth it alone to make the trip to Astoria if you're visiting NYC. Fantastic Lamb chops and a good wine list as well .
