Hi Eliza; you must be enjoying life without 8 extra bodies to be responsible for this week! just wanted to say how much I enjoyed last week; you gave us a fabulous experience all round - rowing; touring; eating and drinking. It was one of the most enjoyable holidays I've EVER had. It was wonderful getting to know you!
Thank you for another great adventure. You sure don't disappoint! I loved the challenge of rowing at times and the fun of going through the locks. I look forward to seeing you again for another great adventure!
Angela is a knowledgeable instructor, and it has been a pleasure learning ASL from her. S he is flexible enough to meet individual needs no matter the student's age or level. Her method works well as she combines teaching/lecturing, games, student-focused practice, and quizzes. She offers plenty of memory aids as she teaches, and she makes lessons fun and encouraging. Also, she provides thorough explanations to student questions, which shows her depth of knowledge in ASL. I highly recommend Angela!
I've been taking classes with Angela for many months and I keep signing up for more because she's an phenomenal instructor! Her class is the perfect mix of new information and low-stress practice. She's a total expert who is also adept at explaining ASL to others, from new learners to advanced signers. Terrific teacher! Highly recommended!
Angela is an excellent instructor. She is very knowledgable about ASL and the most up to date signs. She is patient with new learners and able to increase learning for those with experience. She presents her lessons in engaging ways, but always with patience. I highly recommend Angela as an ASL instructor.
Angela Ashworth is a very knowledgeable and motivating instructor. She paces her lessons by skills, topic, category or from student requests of need. Through a variety of reinforcement games, students have the opportunity to practice in a fun and inviting way, the vocabulary and or sentence structure of previous lessons. Repetition among all the signers in the class helps gain confidence as we learn from each other with Angelas guidance. Best ASL class experience ever!
I can not say enough wonderful thinking about Angela and her classes. Ive always wanted to learn ASL and Angela had made that a reality in classes that were enjoyable and really helpful. Her use of memory aids and games when learning vocabulary really helps to make the signs stick. Ive taken at least five classes with Angela and dont plan to stop now!
Angela is a wonderful instructor. She is knowledgeable and brings years of experience to her lessons. As a student, I look forward to her classes which are fun and full of great information about Deaf culture as well as new vocabulary and grammar.

Our May 2019 Cinque Terre rowing trip with Eliza and Enzo was a wonderful experience. Great accommodations, food and especially great fun with old and new friends. We explored the beautiful coast from Moneglia to La Spezia by rowing shell, foot, train and car and enjoyed the charming villages and towns and stunning landscape. On the last evening the local rowers in La Spezia hosted a delicious dinner for us. The week went by way too fast!
Wonderful vacations! My first time in a single!!!
It was good for me as a beginner, and also sophisticated for the well trained rower from the states :-)
We had also fun in the pool and by dinner and wine!
Rowing Vacations is an outstanding opportunity for people at all levels of rowing to participate in this great sport. The hosts and instructors are highly qualified and trained to give you a rowing adventure and sightseeing trip you will treasure!
I had a great time in Italy. I felt as though I made gains in my sculling with the coaching -- and I must say that rowing with Chris was the first time I had ever rowed in a double where I was matched with someone whose stroke and fitness were similar to my own. So much fun! Thanks to you and Enzo! It was such a pleasure to get to know you; and also to know how much the two of you give back to the sport and to the community. You are special people; and I wish you the best.
I had a gggggggggreaaaaaaaaaat time in Italy and I'll copy a journal excerpt for you. Thanks for all the crazy adventures and all the inside tracks within the Italian rowing world... All the best; thanks again!
Hello Eliza & Enzo - the "R" on the front of this card would normally be for my name; but in this casethe R would be better served as the "WILD; CRAZY;ROW down theRICHELIEURIVER." You organized an amazing trip - my comrades and I didn't realize that this was the maiden voyage rowing along the Richelieu...and what a journey it was - there are so many descriptors: challenging, peaceful, daunting, bucolic, comical, urban, heartwarming, unpredictable, rewarding,green!...but one descriptor it was not: boring :)
Enzo is a great coach; and Eliza a dynamite tour guide. and the food was fantastic. All and all; a wonderful week. We think about our holiday in Italy a lot. I've probably made cantuccini 10 times from the recipe that was shown to us in the kitchen. We find it impossible to get vin santo here :-) Our daughter continues to row and her rowing 8 won the national schools final last weekend. So please tell Enzo that we have a small room for him if he stillwants to coach her ;-)
We are celebrating our one year trip anniversary - marking the days and reminding ourselves what we did; and then the end of next week a year after Florence; we're going out to dinner. Haven't picked the place yet; but the availability of zucchini flowers is one of the criteria. We were all at dinner a couple of weeks ago; and I don't know who started it; but as the conversation went on; we quickly decided we're coming next summer again. Not possibly or maybe. We're coming. We've told other folks and you may see others along with us; but you can count on us! So what kind of plans can we start making?
...But how incredible was Wednesday; when we travelled 30 minutes to Florence and got to use the facilities and boats of the Florence rowing club? Rowing along the Arno; cat-calls and curious gazes everywhere; enjoying a vantage point that few get to experience. Afterward we sipped champagne on the club lawn (right below the Uffizi; by the way) and watched the 9-year-olds taking their first strokes on the learning barge. We lived and worked in Italy that week. We met wonderful adults and kids; were part of a warm and loving family; and created memories that will last forever. OK if we come back next year?
Did OK in my first races with my improved Italian finish! I am sitting up much better at the release than before. Crossed the finish line in 2nd for my Lwt event; but neither # 1 nor I could overcome Jan's 24 sec age handicap.
While the time change is still an adjustment I think the biggest challenge is to be able to explain to friends in a 'sound bite' how delightful a week in Tuscany under the auspices of RowingVacations.com can be. It is more than rowing; more than Tuscany; more than Vogalonga. I think it is about heart; and I was lying awake tonight thinking to myself how you and Enzo have two of the biggest I have known.
We just wanted to send a quick message to say what a brilliant time we had last week. It was one of the best holidays we've had; for all kinds of reasons- great company; wonderful food; friendly animals and of course the sculling sessions which were hugely inspiring and productive. We had so much fun with Margery & Peter too; and being taken round Tuscany to some of your secret places was a great privilege and made us all feel like kids again! It was a real bonus to stay in your house- this created a uniquely relaxed atmosphere among us all. Eda was very kind and patient and fed us some amazing food during our stay- we were really made to feel like part of your family.
Now we just have to stay in training and build on all the good work we did last week....we've had a quick look at the website and are pleased to see Enzo & Matteo making an appearance! But where is Eliza? As requested we may send some suggestions in a few weeks- you're really offering a great experience to people; and for us it was an unforgettable trip.
Thanks again for a great week and all your hospitality
