We had a wonderful experience with Sam. As a former lifeguard and swim instructor myself, I hold high standards swim lessons. Sam did an amazing job with my almost 3 year old. Our goals were for him to be able to swim to the side of the pool and start learning to float. By the end of our 8 lessons he was able to do both with ease! He had so much fun learning to swim with her, we will definitely be signed up again with her for future lessons.
We have had the pleasure of having Sam give both our kids private swim classes. Our oldest son Mason was terrified of going in the private swim classes, so we decided to try Sam. Not only did he start to love swimming, he was able to swim on his own by the end of the sessions at 4 years old. We skipped public lessons all together for our youngest son Evan and went straight to Sam. Evan loved the water and by the end of the sessions she had taught him to swim on his own to the edge at just 3 years old. This has made us feel so much better about having him around water. She keeps the lessons safe and fun. I couldn't recommend Sam's Swim Academy enough.
Excellent instructors! My kids (aged 5 & 3) are more confident in the water and are swimming on their own with little assistance. I would highly recommend Sam's Swim Academy! It was great having the instructor come to me!
The experience was more than we could ask for! Sam was extremely patient with working out our scheduling and setting this summer up for us! The instructor, Jack, was caring, professional and truly amazing with our kids! Our children loved every minute of their lessons and always looked forward to learning something new! We are extremely happy with the service and most of all the confidence this program has instilled in our children! We as parents also now feel safer with our children by water! We can’t wait to continue next summer!
I highly recommend Sam’s Swim Academy. Sam is great in coordinating schedules that works for our family. She answered all my questions and concerns on a timely manner. My son had Jack as his instructor and he was really patient with him. My son has improved so much after completing his lessons his summer and told me that he had lots of fun too. I will be registering my son for next season.
I was a lifeguard and swimming instructor for 10 years in the early 80s and have just retired from a 30 year grade school teaching career. I have a backyard pool that I have encouraged many of my nieces and nephews to use for swimming lessons throughout the summer months. I’m very critical of instructors but by far the best instructor I have ever watched is Sam! What she did with my own grandchildren and friends grandchildren was remarkable! The achievements she could get a child to reach even in just one lesson was incredible! My four year old grandson went from water wings to swimming freely in both the deep and shallow ends of my pool were hard to believe! Her techniques and endless enthusiasm encouraged each child to go beyond their potential and the expectations of their parents. I can’t thank Sam enough for the gift of swimming freely that she gave to so many kids this past summer. Now that summer is coming to an end , we all miss Sam and can’t wait for the chance to have her back in our pool next year!
After a terrifying incident that left our two year old with extreme fear of the water, Sam was able to transform his experience by patiently directing my son to trust his abilities and reduce his fears. I cannot thank Sam enough for her kindness and calm persistence. My son has a newfound love for the water all because of her!

Sam was wonderful with my young kids, engaging them with cute songs and activities to get them used to the water. She was very accommodating when we had to reschedule some lessons. Highly recommend her services!
Sam did an amazing job with our two boys this summer. They had never had swim lessons before but they took to her immediately. Her bubbly personality and caring nature made them feel comfortable and at ease. She was so good with each of them and suggested separate lessons based on their age gap and swim abilities. After 5 lessons each, they learned so much from her. We are looking forward to next summer already and continuing private lessons with Sam!
From start to finish (from booking a lifeguard to the day we had a lifeguard at my daughter's party) it was a smooth and seamless process. It was worth every penny to have a professional, caring, qualified lifeguard on hand. Thank you!
We want to say thank you to Coach Sam for such a wonderful swim season! Mia went from disliking the water to blowing bubbles and jumping in independently by the end of the season! Coach Sam was so patient and catered each lesson to Mia’s individual needs! We can’t wait for next year!
Coach Sam is the best! So enthusiastic and positive, her interaction with my son was so beneficial to helping him develop more skills and confidence in the water. In our 8 week session he is now able to confidently float, doggy paddle (working his way to using long arms for front stroke) and dive deeper in the water. I’ve been really impressed by her ability to problem solve in the water, especially when he wasn’t listening super well, and come up with fun games as well as focused practice in the pool. I would recommend her to anyone looking to advance their kids swimming skills!
I hired Sam’s Swim Academy for at home private lessons for both my daughters (8 and 5)
In just four sessions my youngest gained so much confidence and can swim with no life jacket now! My oldest daughter gained a lot of knowledge with harder skills and she too had a huge improvement from the start of lessons to the end. Sam was quick with responses information and rescheduling due to stormy weather. We had Jack at the beginning who was also wonderful. I highly recommend!

Sam’s Swim Academy is the best! We know the kids are in the best hands when she is there guarding our daughter’s pool party! She never takes her eyes off of the kids! I would recommend her swim academy to anyone who needs a lifeguard for a party or for anyone looking for swimming lessons!
If there was an option for more than 5 stars, Sam would be that! She took my 3 yr old from very timid and not wanting to swim at all, to a little fish in the water. She is patient, kind and so much fun! Her lessons teach great water skills and we look forward to more lessons in the future. We love Sam!
