We have just spent a lovely long weekend at Greenwood.

It is in a perfect location for Bridport and Lyme Regis and is set in beautiful countryside. Communication with the owner was excellent and helped tremendously.

The accommodation was immaculate and very comfortable with everything you could want including a bottle of wine on arrival. We spent many hours in the garden which was a sun trap and walked the highlighted routes. Lovely beach a mile away which has a great pub on the beach which sells great food. Hope to visit again. Thank you so much.

Lovely base for exploring Jurassic Coast

Pydelspring has everything you need for two people to have a relaxing holiday. It is nicely furnished, clean and well-presented. We have stayed in a few other places in Lyme Regis and, although this property is a couple of miles away, it was superior in every way and has a parking space. Great value for money. I should just add that the owner is very pleasant, helpful and communications were really good.

We have just returned from a lovely week in Dorset staying in the Pydelspring Cottage. Great accommodation, very clean and modern. Everything that you need. It is well situated, just a short walk from the coastal path for lovely walks and also plenty of other things to do and see just a short drive away. An excellent property and the petfect base for exploring the Jurassic coast. Charmouth, Seatown and West Bay as well Golden Cap can be reached on foot from the cottage. Greenwood was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. We had a wonderful holiday and would happily return.

Faultless Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was faultless. Everything to the highest standard. The best we've experienced so far on our tour of the UK! 
We walked the Golden Cap from the cottage twice fairly late in the evening. Had to go through a paddock with fabulous Dutch banded cows and one bull! We stayed for quite a while talking to them and soaking up the setting sun across the magnificent view. A lasting memory.

I`m just back from a lovely week in Dorset walking along the coastal path. Lyme Barn was cosy, clean and very comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring the coast without using the car.The farm shop, a 2 minute walk away, was perfect for buying everything we needed.

Although you can`t see traffic there was some road noise.

We would recommend Lyme barn.

Simply perfect

I was very much looking forward to our first time on Dorset and we weren’t disappointed. The accommodation was perfect - everything was spotless and we had everything we needed, would highly recommend. We do lots of walking and therefore we were able to enjoy the coastline without taking the car. I would definitely recommend staying here - oh and the weather was kind to us too.

Fantastic stay

I can't speak highly enough about this beautiful cottage!



Wonderfully situated in a quiet area between Bridport and Lyme Regis- we could easily drive to local towns or take a short taxi ride for meals out, and it was only a short walk or run to the Golden Cap and the Langdon Hill woodlands. There is a Farm Shop just over the road with everything you could need and the cottage itself was extremely comfortable, modern and clean with space for parking.



The cottage had everything you needed, including washer/dryer/fully equipped kitchen/dishwasher etc., with milk and biscuits left for us in the cottage on arrival and a welcome pack with information about the local area. Pat who gave us the keys was extremely friendly and welcoming.



You can hear the road at the bottom of the property during the daytime however overnight it was extremely quiet and undisturbed.



The local beaches are excellent, and the countryside itself was such a welcome break from city life.

Thankyou for a fantastic stay! We would definitely return.

Fantastic Place to Stay

Lyme Barn was the perfect place to stay for my few days away. Fantastic location, just minutes drive away from beaches in both directions (West Bay, Seatown, Lyme Regis, Charmouth etc). Extremely close to the Golden Cap & Coast path walks, and just a few minutes walk away from the Farm Shop. Lyme Barn itself was immaculate and a delightful place to stay. All amenities you could wish for in a self-catering holiday let and beautifully finished. Spacious, modern and a great location. Very peaceful. A fantastic few days away and I couldn't recommend this place more!

A relaxing break

We spent a lovely 5 nights at Lyme Cottages and were blessed with beautiful weather at the end of October! The cottage was spotless and comfortable and had everything we required. It is close to the A35 but that was an advantage for exploring the area. Great walks from the cottage and also places to eat. A very enjoyable break away.

If you are wondering whether to book this cottage please do not hesitate because it is ideal in every way for two people. We were struggling to find somewhere suitable at the last minute and then found Greenwood. It was perfect and just what we were looking for and we are sure you will agree.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Greenwood, I would definitely stay again. The property is lovely, modern, comfortable and so close to the coast. You can venture out on foot or take the car. I visited Lyme Regis to Weymouth and all the beaches in between. The farm shop at the end of the road is lovely. Such a lovely part of the country I didn't want to leave.

Chris's accommodation is fantastic! It is positioned perfectly for getting around Dorset whether via car or public transport and is surrounded with lovely walks which give you instant access to the Jurassic Coast. On arrival there is everything you could possibly need and more. The space is well furnished with great amenities including it's own private seating/outdoor dining area. I can't recommend Chris's space highly enough - it was perfect for a bank holiday break with my partner.

Superb Accommodation!

Myself and my wife stayed at the lovely Greenwood accommodation for four nights. The owner, Chris Wood was excellent from the start of the booking, right though to returning our deposit after we left on the Sunday. Chris provides some great information on how to get there and also about the surrounding areas. We had no problem finding Greenwood and our sav nav took us to the door of the property, along with Chris useful directions. The accommodation itself is absolutely superb with everything a couple needs for a few days relaxing in Dorset. There is a perfectly relaxing open plan sitting room and kitchen, along with a lovely ensuite bedroom above. Also, outside a relaxing area to have your morning coffee or evening glass of wine! The lovely little town of Lyme Regis is less than ten minutes away and Bridport is about 15 minutes away. Both places are definitely well worth a visit and very relaxing to stroll around. We will definitely come back the next time we are visiting the area and I would not hesitate to totally recommend this accommodation.

A LOVELY TIME IN DORSET

This converted barn, which is well equipped and in very good decorative order, is ideal for a couple wanting a quiet time together. It has a decent sized garden with picnic tables and easy foot access to Morcombelake Village via a gate at the back of the garden. It is also well placed for visits to Lyme Regis, Charmouth and further afield to places such as Weymouth and Seaton.

I booked the accommodation for my in laws as a Christmas present and the brownie points it’s earned me, well. Their reaction when the walked in was one of amazement as the cleanliness was described as “you could eat your food off of the floor” and the decor and finish was fantastic.

Wonderful Week

Pydelspring Cottage was more than we had hoped for. Perfect for couples, we anticipate we will return in the future. It had everything we needed and was,very clean, well equipped and well located for the Dorset Area and further afield. Wonderful!

This was my second visit and just as lovely as the first. It's a pleasure to stay in such a clean and comfortable place that's so well thought out and equipped. I really appreciated the fast wi-fi, big flat tv, comfy bed and very efficient heating and shower. After a day out exploring the area or walking the beautiful coastline so nearby, it's wonderful to come back 'home'. I also loved the coffee from the excellent farm shop opposite!

The owner is easy to contact and gives clear instructions beforehand with a follow up email afterwards. All this helps to create a very happy time and I’m sure I’ll be back again!

Beautiful area and great place to stay

A two minute walk to a great tea room, diverse farm shop and the Moore biscuit shop. This great, new and superbly clean property was a pleasure to stay in and the owners and booking service were great, 
Its ten minutes drive to Lyme Regis which is beautiful and there is a great 45 minute walk to the sea. 
The place itself has everything you need, we stayed for 7 days and made full use of the kitchen, washer, dishwasher, wi-fi, etc. The fact these cottages are two adjoining properties put me off a little before we arrived, but there is no problem with noise or privacy. I'd highly recommend it.

Short break in Pydelspring from 4/10/17 to the 9/10/17

Pydelspring is a well equipped semi-detached two storey cottage with a downstairs kitchen/lounge/diner and a shower room/toilet and double bedroom on the first floor. It is ideally located for access to the coastal path, Bridport, Charmouth and Lyme Regis. We used it as a base to do some walking in the area, which included a part coastal walk directly from the property.

Lovely, quality accommodation, really approachable owner.

This converted barn is set in a pretty village close to the Golden Cap ( highest point on this part of the south coast). It is a great base to explore some of the most beautiful countryside and amazing views of the Jurassic coastline. There are several walks but those of us from the flatter parts of the country be prepared for what we called 'extreme walking' especially if you climb the Golden Cap from the west side but honestly we loved the walks that we did. 

The barn is split into two one bedroom cottages, it is decorated beautifully and the fixtures and fittings are top quality, everything we needed had been thought of and the welcome pack biscuits didn't last long after a six hour journey. 

There is a Morrisons supermarket in the little town of Bridport only three or four miles along the A35. We also discovered a lovely little place called West Bay, there had been a recent cliff fall and we found some great fossils, it has a great little harbour and quite a few little food outlets and shops. 

We both fell in love with this part of Dorset and we were so grateful that we found such a beautiful holiday cottage. Would we recommend it? Would we return to this particular cottage again? 100% Yes and Yes! 

What an amazing holiday and we can't wait to repeat it again soon.

Excellent place to explore West Dorset & the Jurassic Coast

Pydelspring proved to be an excellent choice for our short holiday in Dorset. Its location is ideal for both exploring the area by car or to simply walk out onto the footpath network. (Good circular walk down to Charmouth and back along the Coast Path taking in Golden Cap).
The accommodation is as advertised and is more than adequate for two persons sharing a double bed. The décor is simple and modern and in excellent condition. The equipment is comprehensive and the kitchen utensils good enough for any but the more ambitious cooks!
Would certainly have no hesitation recommending this property.

Beautiful inside and out

Last minute getaway, the owner Chris emailed me personally to make sure I had everything needed due to my lack of organisational skills in booking so last minute. Easy check in and check out despite this, privacy given throughout although contact details always on hand if we had any questions. We took the walk to Seatown and Golden Cap from the back garden and it made for a fantastic day out, spent the rest of the time driving and exploring the Jurassic Coast in both directions.



The accommodation was modern, warm, and well thought out. All the necessities needed were there, parking was right outside. Thank you for saving me from a drab and eventless annual leave spent at home. We wish you all the best for the future and will definitely recommend to friends.

We also found that the location is ideal as a base to access many of the attractions located both on the coast and inland. Perfect immaculate and beautiful - Lyme Holidays

This is a fantastic location with great local amenities. The property is immaculate in every way. Everything is there that you could need and then some more. All the mod cons are spot on and the wifi is excellent. Fully equipped for cooking, relaxing and just generally having a wonderful time. Added extras include the wood pecker and pheasants. The farm shop opposite stocks great produce and really nice hot snacks, post office is handy for a paper and the buses are outside if you want to leave the car and have a really nice afternoon/evening in either Bridport or Lyme. I will be returning here and rate this at the top of any self catering we have ever experienced.

What a Find!

The photographs just do not do it justice. I found Pydelspring at the last moment and I am so glad I did. It is brand new and the design was perfect for us. We have stayed in many, many self catering places but this is so far from a small roomed, difficult to keep clean cottage. It is light and spacious and really did have everything we needed.


The weather was kind to us, having a large garden in front of us was tremendous. We enjoy walking the coast so the location was perfect. We only walked a short way on this occasion but were able to access the coastal footpath at Golden Cap within about 10 minutes.

The kitchen is very well stocked, so cooking was certainly not a chore. The shower was hot and powerful, which was greatly appreciated after our walks. This is a great place if you want to find somewhere that is relaxing yet has everything you need whether the weather is good or not.

Looking forward to returning soon.
