A little
about myself. I spent ten years in the U.S. Army, the majority as Green Beret
in 1st Special Forces Group. After leaving the Army I spent five years as a
police officer in Texas. In 2001 I joined the Federal Air Marshals for five
years. I transferred out of the Federal Air Marshals in 2007 to take a full
time position as a firearms instructor for the federal government. I now own a
consulting business where I consult in the area of special operations, tactics,
and firearms. I also consult in the entertainment industry. The watches I have
owned run from everything from Casio G-shocks and Pathfinders, Luminox,
Seiko's, and Rolex Submariners. I am one of those people that wears my watches
to work no matter how nice and expensive the watch is. My daily activities have
included anything from obstacle courses, parachute jumps, shooting, to waterborne
operations. Needless to say I am extremely hard on my watches. I actually broke
my Submariner bracelet during Desert Storm.
I recently purchased the CX Swiss Military 20000 with the black carbon fiber face from Charmex North America. The
presentation box the was nicer than any watch I have had so far. Upon opening
the box I could not believe how big the watch was. The first thing that caught
my attention is how big and attractive the titanium bracelet is. In my opinion
the bracelet is nicer and more functional than my Submariner. I can recount
many occasions when my Submariner bracelet would "pop" open. On a few
of these occasions during waterborne operations, I came close to losing the
watch due to this problem. Also because of this, during parachute jumps I would
not wear my Submariner but put into a pocket for fear of losing it. The
bracelet on this is much more sturdy, secure, and does not open easily which is
a major plus for working in the environments that I do. I would not have a
second thought about wearing this one my wrist during a parachute jump. The
bracelet is also bigger than the Submariner and fits the watch perfectly. The
rubber strap that comes with the watch is also extremely attractive and fits
perfectly. My first day wearing the watch was definitely a breaking in phase
that I initially thought would take longer due to the size of the watch. After
the second day I didn't notice the weight or size at all. This watch breaks in
beautifully. I have two close friends that are watch collectors and own several
high end Rolex's and Panerai's. When showing them the watch, one of their first
comments was that I would end up bumping the watch on many objects due to the
thickness. The surprising thing is that I actually bump this watch less than
any other watch I have owned. I have worn this watch every day since receiving
it.
It has
become my favorite and is the best watch I have ever owned. It is extremely
tough yet even with the size looks great on my wrist when going out at night. I
receive compliments daily on the watch. Of course when many see that depth of
20,000 feet they comment, "Who would ever dive that far?" I think
people fail to recognize that not only does it represent the depth the watch
can be worn to, but how tough this watch is. This is displayed by the videos on
their web page. The luminescence on the watch is exceptional. Even in a lit
room the luminescence is noticeable. THANK YOU!

I recently
discovered the 20000 feet, which is my dream watch. Ever since my first quartz
titanium watch, I always wanted an 'indestructible' titanium automatic watch
and none was available until Montes Charmex, maker of the CX Swiss Military
Watch built the 20'000 feet, which I purchased from Charmex North America and I
received my 20'000 feet two days after ordering it - now that is speedy
service!
Prior to my
purchase, I researched as much as I could about the watch and read several
reviews but I still had questions about it. I sent an email to Charmex North
America and was quite surprise to receive a response immediately the next day
from Christoph Malzl, CEO of Charmex North America. I've corresponded
with Christoph Malzl for about two months with my seemingly never ending
questions and he always responded timely, very professionally, completely, and
most importantly he is very patient. I know that I'm not the easiest customer
to deal with and I truly appreciate his patience as well as his kindness and
courtesy. As others have said, Christoph Malzl is exemplary for excellent
customer care which others should follow. He took excellent care of me before,
during, and after purchase; for example, he even provided complimentary
bracelet sizing for me and I had a question for him after I received my watch
which he responded to my email immediately. If you are interested in
purchasing the 20'000 feet watch, let Christoph take care of you!
As other
have said, the built quality and craftsmanship are excellent and the
presentation box is outstanding. I'm not going to review the functionality of
the watch which professional reviewers have already covered in their reviews,
but will offer my opinion on how it wears. I, too, had a concern about how
'heavy' the watch is since the specification states the weight at 265
grams. I own both titanium (Ti) and stainless steel (SS) automatic
watches, which ranges in weight from approximately 4 oz to 7.5 oz. I have a
skinny wrist and had 4 links removed. The weight of the watch is 8.7 oz. but it
feels as 'heavy' as my 45mm SS watch that is 7.5 oz. The 20'000 feet is big and
you'll definitely notice it on your wrist but it is very wearable and not too
heavy, the rounded case back distributes the weight evenly and comfortably. It
does not look too big because my 45 mm SS watch appears larger in diameter than
the 20'000 feet even though the 20'000 feet is 46 mm and it is very tall at
28.5 mm in height so it can't go under a cuff easily.
My
experience with Ti watches is that Ti is more easier to scratch than SS but the
scratches 'heal' over time. I've already gotten scratches on the 20'000 feet
watch's bracelet after a few days of wearing it but it is not a craftsmanship
issue it is the property of Ti being a 'softer' metal than SS. After all, the
20'000 feet is designed as a tool watch and will get scratches from daily wear
as well as desk diving :-). If you are interested in purchasing the
20'000 feet or any Swiss Military or Charmex of Switzerland watches, I highly
recommend that you purchase from Charmex North America because Christoph will
take care of you!

I just
opened the box! The packaging and contents lived up to their now almost
legendary status in reviews. I’ve purchased several higher end pieces at much
higher prices, and this rivals the best of what Bremont and Zenith had to offer
(The packaging standards in my collection so far).
The watch
has quite the presence both in the box and especially on the wrist. It’s
exactly what I was hoping for and definitely worth the wait. I have already
shot several pictures off to friends to brag. Not sure how it will look with my
suit (and positive it is not going to fit under the shirt cuff) at work
tomorrow, but I intend to find out. My father is an extensive diver and watch
connoisseur himself and this piece hit high notes for him on both counts. The
finish is excellent. The operation is very sure and smooth. And the luminosity
is outstanding. It is a definite stand out in my collection and a phenomenal
value for the price.

I first
want to start off by thanking Christoph Malzl, CEO of Charmex North
America, for his professionalism and patience on our numerous phone
conversations. I have been a watch connoisseur since the age of 12, so I was
always impressed by different looking watches. On February 2, 2012 I
received my Hurricane 47 mm, black face and black strap watch. The
packaging was exceptional, the watch itself was executed in a very
elegant way, not very busy, and legible. You are able to wear this
in a casual manner, as well as a suit and tie, for the price that this watch is
being sold with a Valoux 7750 movement, and being COSC certified it is well worth the price.
This watch
can stand next to a Breitling Super Avenger, it doesn't have the advertisement
as the Super Avenger, nor the price tag, and once you have it in your hand and
you place it on your wrist, then you will understand. The photographs of the
watch advertised in their catalogs or brochures, do not have the same
impression as if when you have the watch in your hand. The first time I put the
watch on, I noticed something right away, that the strap is not made for
someone with a large wrist. My wrist measures at 7 ½ inches, and there are only
two holes left on the strap, that is not very much meat
left. Besides that, if your wrist isn't larger than 7 1/2 inches,
then you have nothing to worry about, except enjoying wearing this watch!
I must say the workmanship that goes into CX Swiss Military products is first rate! I am a tool maker by trade, so I know a thing or two about quality and workmanship. I just wanted to say that it was that experience that led me to selling more than ten watches of my watch collection to solely own the flagship timepiece that you represent: the 20'000 FEET! It truly is the crown jewel of my watch arsenal. I wouldn’t walk across the street for any Rolex, including their flagship diver as they are to generic for my taste. I share your company's appreciation for what is something unequalled in the dive watch industry, because it truly is.
Since my
Argonaut 1000 TQ arrived 2 weeks ago, it has become my favorite watch. It is
bold, beautifully constructed, exceedingly comfortable, and of excellent
quality. My wife loves the way it looks on my wrist, and I enjoy wearing it
almost everyday, even at the office. I was originally looking for an everyday
leisure watch...one that was tough enough to survive whatever a beach, pool,
desert, rock, or ice environment could toss at it without me having to worry
about it at the slightest. Think long hours of heavy internet research
looking for the "toughest", “most durable”, “indestructible” watches
around. Although my initial bias was to find a watch with the latest advanced
features in a very tough case, I soon realized that if I wanted a carefree
experience, the construction and quality had to be priority #1. There are many
watches with great features to be found, however most are either flimsy,
over-hyped, or over-priced toys compared to this CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH.
You can
read the specs on the Charmex North America website, and there are very good
reviews for it on the internet, but here is what makes the ARGONAUT1000 TQ
extra special for me:
- It has a
substantial Grade II titanium case and bracelet that has about a 40% higher
tensile strength and is harder than the commonly found Grade I base titanium.
Although titanium, which scratches relatively easily compared to stainless
steel, develops a nice patina over time, I like to discourage extra scratches
where possible while getting an even tougher case. My other favorite titanium
watch is chemically hardened and DLC coated, but it is only a matter of time
before the coating, even though highly durable, wears through. One less thing
to worry about with my TQ.
- I prefer
quartz for a reliable tool watch, and as far as I could find, the Ronda
Startech jeweled movement is probably the most durable quartz movement available,
and it has a long battery life. Using the crown to adjust the time and date was
a solid, confidence inspiring experience.
- Check out
ISO 6425 for divers’ watches on the internet…this watch apparently exceeds
these requirements not to mention being rated to 1000m. Charmex should
highlight these capabilities more prominently instead of leaving them deep in
the website FAQs. This way people could better understand why this true divers’
watch is so much tougher than the rest!
- For all
that you get in this watch, even ignoring the luxurious presentation case and
high quality accessories, it is an incredible value. I would not hesitate for
an instance in recommending this watch to anyone looking for an extremely
tough, comfortable, and very attractive watch. I will enjoy it for many years
to come!

firefighter. I received my 20,000 Feet on March 29, 2011. When I opened the 2
boxes, I saw another box and it was cool and awesome. I was so amazed and
impressed with the appearance of the watch. I like the 20'000 FEET very much -
it is a once-in-a-lifetime investment. The case diameter 46mm is perfectly
fit on my wrist even though I have a small wrist. The first day I wore it
in my office, the people around me were amazed when they saw the watch on
my wrist. They said, I am the only one in the Bureau that has the kind of

I have
always liked big diver watches with large diameter and thickness. But each
time I got one I was not satisfied, as it could always have been bigger. This
time however, I found the watch that met my requirements, and, of course,
with great help from Christoph Malzl, CEO of Charmex North
America. I cannot wish for better watch or a more professional
treatment. Being a "watch-freak" I own a collection of other time
pieces, but Rolex and others cannot take the place of this watch.
As a
certified diver with many hours under the water this is BY FAR the best divers
watch I have ever had on my wrist. As you know I own many high end divers
watches including the Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller, Submariner, Doxa 5000T and Breitling
Seawolf. All of these watches are excellent but the CX is in a different
league!!
I bought
the CX 20'000 because I wanted the best divers watch in the world even just for
a daily wearer. The watch is big and I am not a large wrist guy but I must say
after a full day of wearing the watch it is surprisingly comfortable even when
I have my suit on!

First of all, I am impressed with the great help and support Christoph Malzl
provides! I want to thank him! This 20,000 Feet is my first watch from CX Swiss
Military Watch and I'll tell you that you just can't go wrong with this super
watch because it's adjusted and certified for maximum accuracy by COSC (an
external entity) and then you'll be certain that the watch will just be
accurate. This is a chronograph using the Valjoux 7750, a reliable and proven
movement so you'll be certain that the mechanism will work and last for many
years. Also, this is the mechanical diver's watch (and chronograph) with the
highest water resistance and this is certified by Guinness Records! Three
external and world respected and recognized entities (COSC, ISO and Guinness)
confirming you this watch is just awesome!!
It's hard
to understand what is needed to achieve the world record the 20,000 Feet has.
For this reason, you can watch several videos in YouTube where the 20,000 Feet
goes through "real life tests" that I have never seen applied on
another watch without actually destroying it. So, considering all those facts,
you know the 20,000 Feet is a great investment and this is the best tool watch
available today!! The king of diver's watches!!
I was concerned about the big size and somewhat concerned about the weight.
Well, after wearing it, I can tell you the watch is very well balanced and it
looks powerful and solid on the wrist. The 20,000 Feet won't certainly replace
your dress watches (they'll just look like ladies watches) but you can wear it
in many situations with no issues at all. If you already have some diver's
watches by CX Swiss Military, like their Seawolf 1 or the Argonaut (1,000 meters
for water resistance, or more), it will be easy for you to get used to the
20,000 Feet.
It's really
hard to find ways to improve the 20,000 Feet. I really like the 20,000 Feet
because it will always be a recognized watch and for now it is unmatched. I am
confident that this watch will take anything even if I don't! I can't say
the same about my other watches. Knowing you have such great watch makes you
smile every time you look at it!!
Yesterday I
received my Argonaut 1000. What made it extra special was the fact that it had
a blue dial. Everywhere I looked this model was sold out and, since it was a
limited edition, I assumed there were no more left. However, on a whim, I
contacted Charmex North America and spoke directly to the CEO - Mr.
Christoph Malzl. Not only was he extremely gracious and professional, but he
actually contacted Switzerland and had a blue dial model here in less than 2
weeks. Amazing! The watch is not just a timepiece but a true work of art. I
have owned many of the "greats" like AP, Breitling, Rolex, Omega etc.
and none come remotely close. Their motto of "No Compromise" can be

I just
received my CX Swiss Military 12'00 FEET watch. To say I was impressed is an
under statement. The watch is massive, solid and built like a tank. If you take
the tip of your finger and just tap the scratch proof sapphire crystal, you
immediately come into the awareness that this is no ordinary built timepiece.
The quality of the watch is very apparent. It is extremely well made and keeps
very accurate time. I own a Breitling Super Avenger and a Breitling Hercules,
Omega Seamaster, and an IWC Ingenieur. All very nice timepieces indeed, but
these watches seem like toys in comparison to the CX Swiss Military 12'000 ft.
The CX Swiss Military 12'000 ft. is not for the wimpish. This is clearly a
man's watch.
If you are
like me and appreciate solid high-quality uncompromising craftsmanship that

Saturday was a special day for me. It was the day that I received the finest
watch I have ever owned! I am speechless. I have just opened the CX 12,000, it

I have had my eye on this piece know for about a year and have to say its
amazing. I collect all sorts of watches from Invicta, Swatch, Casio, to my

The 20,000 FEET watch was officially awarded to me as the
"2010 Undersea Explorer's Award" for my 1970 discovery of the
legendary Hunley submarine. I have come to
treasure my 20,000 FEET CX Swiss Military watch. People comment on it almost

on the back, as well as the date and a note that it saved my
hand.

I recently
received my CX Swiss Military 20,000 FEET. I also own two CX Swiss
Military 12,000 FEET watches as well. I would like to give you my full
critique. The 20,000 foot is truly a handsome timepiece. I would be very
cautious altering this design too much, as a matter of fact I would not alter
it at all. The pushers and winder are outstanding on the 20,000 FEET
diver. The metal gauge thickness of the of the 20,000 ft is excellent! It
matches the size and thickness of the watch. As a matter of fact the 20,000 ft
bracelet is my all time favorite.
- The
rotating bezel feels great to spin. As a matter of fact I have already
developed a habit of rotating it because I like the feel of the clicks as it
rotates, very solid, and it even sounds good. I like the alternate black and
silver of the bezel.
- The deep
sharp notched grooves of the winder and pushers offer EXCELLENT grip, and I do
mean EXCELLENT, the best I have ever experienced on a watch.
- Also at
the 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 marks on the outer black part of the bezel, the
area sticks out a bit relative to rest of the outer black ring of the bezel.
This was a great idea, it offers great grip and rotation control.
- The lumen
on the face and the bezel of the 20,000 ft is also excellent and emits very
nicely in the dark.

I have been
wearing the CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH 20'000 FEET and ARGONAUT 1000 TQ for the
last three months. I have 2 Rolex Sea Dwellers. Today I wore my Rolex
Sea Dweller and at first I thought I was putting on a lady's watch!
ha ha ha ...The Rolex definitely has the reputation BUT in appearance and feel,
compared to CX Swiss Military Watch, these are like ladies watches. Your CX
20'000 FEET and the ARGONAUT'S are so solid and chunky and it is a pleasure to
wear them ... The Rolexes seems so delicate by comparison.

I received my CX Swiss Military SW1 Scuba watch today, and am very pleased with it. It is a very high quality watch that is well designed and built, with distinctive appearance. The watch seems quite rugged and robust, and gives the impression that it will stand up to some very hard usage. Perhaps one of its main qualities which appeals to me is that it does not imitate or copy other designs, presenting a unique look that exudes both style and utility. The panda dial with black face and white registers is handsome and provides excellent visibility. I have the watch on a black/red/green NATO strap and it wears very comfortably; it is securely mounted on hex screw bars. I am quite looking forward to wearing and using this watch on a daily basis.

I bought my
first 12'000 FEET CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH about two years ago. How
impressed I was with the quality of manufacture! The finish of the whole watch
was perfect and makes me smile whenever looking at it. I was so impressed that
I have since purchased the black and yellow dialed models. My diving associates
are left speechless when I wear the CX 12'000 FEET.
It is just
without a shadow of doubt the most impressive dive watch I have owned. I only
now require the silver dialed model to complete the 12'000 FEET set. I recently
made a mistake at an airport and packed the bracelet screwdriver in my carry on
baggage. Needless to say it was confiscated and lost forever. I contacted the
Montres Charmex headquarter and received a direct reply from their
office. Within a few days I was with not one, but two replacement screw
drivers!. That's what I call SERVICE!!!
I have
spent most of my life going through watches that just couldn't stand up to the
rigors of my lifestyle. I never thought I was really hard on my
watches but my track record would say different. So I started the search for
something "indestructible" and after searching the Internet for the
toughest watches in the world, I came across the original CX Swiss
Military. A brand I had never heard of, but all reviews were encouraging
and lead me to research the brand a bit further. In my research, the same name
kept coming up, over and over and I must insist it was always in a positive
light!
I contacted
CHARMEX NORTH AMERICA, the licensed CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH distributor
and within hours had a reply from the man himself. He systematically answered
every question I had, and I had a lot! The more questions I had, the
more he sold me on the Argonaut 1000. I am a cop and work part time as a white
water rafting and glacier guide. I need a tough watch and Mr. Christoph Malzl
reassured me the Argonaut was it. I wasn't quite in the position to buy the
Argonaut at the time but Christoph was kind enough to contact me and inform the
numbers in stock were becoming limited. He did me some massive favors with
payment terms and I am now sitting here typing wearing my beautiful
Argonaut. I am an avid believer that customer service is a dying practice and I
have to say that Christoph has renewed my faith. The consumer relationship that
I have developed with Christoph gives me 110% faith in my watch and the
company. I would have have faith in anything that he was selling, as he
believes in quality, of product and service. All that is left to say is...A
genuine thanks. It has been a pleasure!
I am a
Police Officer and I am also assigned to the County Dive team. My watches
usually take a beating over time. I purchased the ARGONAUT 1000 to wear. I trust this watch will stand up to the rigors of my life style. I
like the feel, and looks of the watch and am happy with the purchase. I am also
pleased to have done business with CHARMEX NORTH AMERICA and feel confident if,
and when the watch needs service they will be as attentive as they have been.
As
important as the quality of the Argonaut 1000 is to me, the customer service by
the company, and vendor are also extremely important. So far this has been the

I just wanted to comment on my recent purchase of a CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH "ARGONAUT 1000 TQ". I am extremely impressed with the attention to detail and the sheer attitude this watch portrays.
It wears extremely well for it's size. The quality of materials is second to none. The titanium has the best finish I have ever seen on a titanium watch to date. The oversized lugs are a wonderful touch as well as the two-piece titanium bezel. The case back is beautifully detailed and tasteful. The clasp looks as if it ready for war. I catch myself sometimes just staring at it trying to find a flaw!!........I have not tested it as of yet in respect to it's diving capabilities but I am sure I will not be disappointed in that aspect either. Thanks for your attention and continue creating some amazing time pieces!
I had an
'unexpected real life test' of my 20'000 feet watch a few days ago. My 20'000
feet watch was on the upper level of a bunk bed, which is about 5 feet high
from the floor. I accidentally knocked it off and it felt to the floor. When I
heard the loud thud, for a split second, my heart stopped and I was expecting
to find a dent on the watch but there was no damage mark that I can see. I felt
relief that it happened to the 20'000 feet instead of my other regular
automatic watches.
A few days
later, I was curious as to why there was no impact mark and I examined the
watch more closely. I noticed there is a very small pin size indentation mark
in the case back but the indentation is so superficial that I cannot feel it
with my finger or fingernail. I extrapolated that when the watch dropped, the
bracelet made contact with the floor first to absorb the impact and it pressed
against the case back creating the pin size 'dent' but there is no indentation mark
on the bracelet.
Needless to
say, I'm extremely happy with my 20'000 feet watch and its 'tank like' built
quality! I know that another company coined the phrase "it takes a licking
and keeps on ticking" but it is very applicable for the 20'000 feet as
well.
Again, I
want to emphasize that I didn't intentionally want to test the physical
endurance of the watch but accidents do happen, and when it does, the 20'000
feet will survive.
What can I
say, the anticipation was so great! You see, I have spent over
6 months looking at watches, Bulova, Citizen, Seiko, Invicta, Tag, Sunnto,
just to name a few, but I kept coming back to CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH by
Montres Charmex. I looked at watches every week. I
asked myself, what I wanted most in a watch: quality, distinctive
features, functionality, style, reliability, quality. The CX SWISS MILITARY
WATCH had it all. I narrowed it down to two and ended up with
Argonaut TQ with the yellow face.
Dealing with Charmex North America and
Mr. Malzl, has been a joy from day one through delivery. I must
have talked to him a dozen times and he was always friendly, helpful and
truly exemplified the CHARMEX dedication through top notch customer services
and attention to every detail. This, more than anything, has sold me on
CHARMEX and CX SWISS MILITARY WATCH for life!
My Argonaut
TQ was shipped in three layers of protective boxing. After I finally
opened the last box and looked at it in person, I was in awe of
how stunning it was. I couldn’t believe that I now owned this
masterpiece #165 of only 200 made. I could have bought any watch I wanted, but
I didn’t want to be one of six guys in church with the same generic watch.
I wanted a watch I could be proud of; one that said something about
me. I’m not like everyone else, why should my watch
be? I value quality, craftsmanship, and
functionality. The Argonaut TQ is my watch. What is
