Ricardo was super nice and friendly. He showed up on time, and got the work done very quickly. I was interested in the process of repairing the crack in the foundation and he was kind enough to explain to me the process and steps he was doing. He took pictures and videos of the work. He also cleaned up everything, leaving no mess behind.
RSL Structural completed the seismic upgrade to our property efficiently and neatly. Ricardo, the owner, was able to make the process as smooth as possible by preparing and submitting many of the required documents (like permits, and scheduling inspections) on our behalf. After the work was complete, Ricardo was also able to assist with insurance paperwork that helped us reduce our earthquake insurance premium! The work was completed on schedule with clear communication through out the entire process. I would recommend RSL Structural to anyone who is in need of a seismic upgrade/retrofit on their property.
RSL Structural did a great job! They were on time, communicated what was going to happen next and completed the job on time. I would recommend them highly and would hire them again! You can't go wrong with Ricardo and his company RSL Structural Inc!
I first prayed and believed I received that God would send me a contractor that would do a great job.
I read reviews, made phone calls then made some appointments.
Ricardo Lima was my second appointment. I knew in my heart that God had sent Ricardo to be my contractor. I accepted him as my contractor that day.
He's a great foundation expert in San Bruno and the Bay Area.
He's been working with EBB for many years now. He's an expert at following their plans, placing the bolts and the bracing just where they need to be according to plan as laid out for contractors to follow.
As I read in reviews Ricardo does it all leaving very little for the homeowner to do. The homeowner just needs to go on the computer and follow the instructions for what needs to be done on the homeowners dashboard, which is how how homeowners communicate with EBB.
His plans and the way he works is precise. As a handyman myself, it was a pleasure to watch him work. Ricardo's work is well thought out and well planned.
He passed all building code inspections with ease.
As a homeowner he's very pleasant to work with.
He left the work site clean and haul away all debris.
Great job Ricardo.
Great guy to deal with work nicely done. Very friendly does not act like "the expert" but a partner. And really did a nice job cleaning up.
Highly recommended!
In a landscape of specialty contractors who were too busy to call back or found my earthquake brace & bolt project too small to bother with, Ricardo promptly called back and scheduled a walk-through to provide an estimate. He showed up at the time scheduled, ready to measure my home's footprint and crawl beneath it to see what work needed to be done.
He explained the process, which was complicated documentation-wise because work was partially funded by a State Brace & Bolt homeowner's grant, how he would get the necessary approvals and building permit, what the progress payment schedule would be, and possible choke-points and holdups; he then promptly followed up with a quote for the work. After I gave him the green light I could see he was promptly submitting the required photos and drawings to the State (there's a program portal where you can see uploads and submissions); after approval came in he scheduled the work and on the start day he was on site on time, again ready to go. Following work, which included handling the City inspection without me needing to be there, he again promptly submitted documentation to the state which allowed me to file for my grant reimbursement.
Throughout the process Ricardo kept me apprised by texts, emails, and phone calls, leaving me with the feeling that I was dealing with a pro who knew his stuff. As I said, highly recommended!
Ricardo of RSL Structural Inc. installed earthquake braces and bolts to our 1956 ranch home. He communicated clearly from the onset of the quote through the completion of the job; he explained what was needed and how he would install it. I highly recommend him - excellent, clean, knowledgeable, professional work.
Great working with Ricardo for the earthquake bolting of our home. Very professional - he had all the knowledge and communicated the whole process clearly. He finished the work in a day ahead of time so the permit could be signed off before a holiday, and even put proper blocking behind the water heater. the materials look installed correctly and he cleaned up his work. Glad we chose him and his estimate(which wasn't the lowest, but was reasonable). Peninsula, San Bruno, Foundation expert, Brace and Bolt, EBB
I had Rsl Structural complete my brace and bolt with the EBB program. I got estimates from 3 different contractors. I chose Ricardo because he was the most organized and knowledgeable. During the job he showed up on time and was happy to answer any of my questions. Even questions not related to EBB, including some questions about my foundation. His work quality was great and he cleaned up after. If you are need of an expert in San Bruno or the peninsula I recommend RSL Structural.
Just received the payment from EBB program. the whole retrofit process went through smoothly . Ricardo always kept me updated and responded to requests from either EBB or me promptly. Recommended!
Qifan
Ricardo from RSL Structural repaired and replaced several damaged posts in my basement and filled cracks in the basement walls. I found him to be highly professional about all his estimates and his work on site. He explains his work well and makes his estimates detailed and clear. He is a friendly and personable guy. As far as I can tell, the work is excellent (I am not an expert on foundation work) He sent lots of photos, before and after, so I could see what was needed and what was done. This kind of work is expensive, but I received other similar estimates, and so I assume it is reasonable. I would definitely go back to him for further construction work. Thanks, Ricardo!
After receiving the EBB grant, I was a bit overwhelmed by all the next steps. I had a few structural contractors come through with a quote and Ricardo stood about because of his responsiveness, professionalism, and knowledge of EBB process. Every step of the way, he made the process easier and answered all my questions. He explained a lot of the why and how to me of the seismic retrofit plans. I feel much safer in my home now the the seismic retrofit is complete. I highly recommend Ricardo.
We highly recommend Ricardo and RSL Structural! Ricardo provided seismic retrofitting for our house in November 2022. From the very beginning he was responsive, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He provided a highly competitive quote for the work and carried it out on time and budget. Throughout the process he also helped us to navigate the CA Earthquake Bolt and Brace program, guiding us through the submissions to the online portal at every stage. A five star experience throughout!
We received the EBB grant for brace and bolt seismic retrofitting, and Ricardo and his team carried out the work at our house in October 2022. From the first interaction, Ricardo was very responsive and guided us through the entire process. He proactively managed to transfer all required documents to the EBB portal, and it was hassle-free for us. We valued his expertise, responsiveness, and the quality of the work. Overall a great experience - we can recommend RSL without reservation.
We hired RSL to do seismic retrofitting on our house sub structure. Ricardo is highly knowledgeable and professional. He was always on time and finished the job right on schedule. He was very good at returning emails or texts to answer questions we had. He kept a very clean and organized job site which says a lot about the care put into his work and his respect for his clients. He handled all permits and inspections with the city and engineers which made things simple for us. I highly recommend him.
