Our papillon, Forest had to be put to sleep on March 15, 2022. I couldn't bare to possibly be without his ashes up to two weeks. We brought him after and had his ashes back the next afternoon. He is respectful and understands your pain. He knows they are family.
We recently lost our American Bulldog Hitch unexpectedly. Benson Brook Pet Cremations was kind, considerate and more than affordable at a time when emotions are running high. Lovely and compassionate service. Other services were not available on the weekend, and other services would not allow me enter the crematory to say goodbye to my beloved pet due to the pandemic. Gary allowed me, and my friend who joined me for support, to enter the crematory to say a proper goodbye, and that meant so very much to me. I left with beautiful keepsakes. Thank you, Gary. I lost my beloved Tino Saturday morning, and by Sunday morning I was spreading some of his ashes at my family camp not far from Benson Brook. It gave me much comfort to leave my precious boy to be cremated with compassion and care. It felt so right driving to his property in the mountains of Maine—a place Tino loved. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Gary, for the wooden box and his lock of hair too. I'll never forget your kindness on one of the most difficult weekends of my life.

In the Fall of 2019, the effects of heart disease started to show in our little girl Emma. With visits to the vets. throughout the winter, we knew that sad day of losing her was coming. We started to look around for pet cremation services and came across Benson Brook on line. After a little research and reading other testimonials, we knew this was the place. I was allowed to visit there prior to that day and met a man named Gary Smith. He showed me the facility and explained everything to me. On April 3, 2020, we had to say goodbye to our little Pomeranian of 12 1/2 years. I called Gary that morning and he was there to greet us as we drove in. We carried Emma inside and he gave us all the time we needed to say our final goodbyes. I was able to assist in clipping some of her fur for keepsake, having her 2 front paws pressed onto a clay disc, and was even able to place her into the chamber myself. 3 hours later we returned to pick her up and bring her home. Thank you Gary for your compassion during that difficult time and God bless you for all you do.
I have been using Benson Brook for several years now and I can say that Gary Smith is a very caring man who will do his best to insure that your beloved pet is given the honor and dignity it deserves. Gary has handled cremation services for 2 of my cats and 2 of my beloved dogs, each time I left with a sense of peace knowing that they were truly in good hands. Gary insures every soul is treated like it were one of his own. I drive 3.5 hours round trip simply because I know my pet will be treated with honor and respect. I am grateful Gary offers this service. I really wanted to be the one to take my girl for her last car ride, to go with her to the end of the line, rather than just leave her at the vet. The peaceful drive, Gary's kindness and flexibility, and getting her ashes back the very next day helped so much at a very hard time.
