To get the process started, Fix It Guy asks for a credit card to be kept on file. I paid for a dishwasher repair on February 25, 2025. About seven months later, on September 18, 2025, they charged $87.54 against that same card even though they had performed no new services for me. If you have given them your credit card number, I recommend checking your statements for additional charges. If you find additional charges, consider filing a police report with Chicago Police Department for unauthorized use of your credit card. I also recommend filing notice with the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov) that you were scammed.

Our dryer was giving an error code and needed a part replaced. Hector came out and was very helpful and even gave some maintenance tips on our other appliances. Unfortunately the new part didn't fix the problem, but since they have a 90 day warranty I was able to get a refund on the deposit I had paid. Since I then needed to get a new dryer, Hector was very helpful with suggestions on brands to look at.
