  Feedback for the company: Booked an appointment online that Fix It Guy cancelled 15 mins before the appt window because I hadn't realized they required a credit card in advance. That's not a big deal, but what followed surprised me. When I called to get an appointment back on the books, the rep explained at length that they have to take a card because so many people stand them up, and I said I understood but mentioned the requirement had been pretty easy to miss in all the texts and emails they sent. His response: "Well, just so you know you're only about the second person to say that out of like 1,000 people I've talked to." Got it—so I'm dumb and the feedback is invalid. Thanks! That's nice. But here's the thing: In the hours after booking, Fix It sent a total of 7 text messages and 4 emails. I understand they're using an automated system, but that's a *lot* of comms to hit someone with. Plus, the second text (and the very first email) both said "Reggie from Fix It Guy is scheduled to arrive at X day and time." Being busy, I stopped paying close attention after that because it pretty clearly reads like confirmation. Two of the texts and three of the emails after that said "Fix It Guy would like to save your credit card on file for a faster check-out in the future," but that reads optional and blah-promotional, right? Only one text (the fourth one received, weirdly) out of 11 total communications from the company specified requiring a card, and yes, I missed that in middle of they're other 10 messages. (Oh sorry, they also sent an email *less than an hour* before the appointment window—subject line: "Additional information needed ASAP"—which I didn't even get until post-cancellation.) Based on other reviews it sounds like their actual repair work is great, and holding a card isn't a huge deal (though comms about it could be much clearer and more streamlined), but why would I rebook with someone that dismissive?
