  This was a great experience for my daughter and niece. One 12 and one 8. Both had a separate private lesson with water suits, shoes and life jackets (this protected them from any cuts within the water, which we saw with other shoeless people). Instructors were really great with them making sure they maximized the waves and had them catching every wave possible. Other companies had people catching one every 5 waves, but Sufer Girl made sure they maximized the lesson. Mito was really great to book and organize with and went out with our kids to get pictures and videos. Would book again if we are ever back.

  Brief instruction but that’s all we needed. Very nice and funny instructors that gave us tips after each ride. Would absolutely recommend. Their photos and videos were fantastic and reasonably priced.

  One of the best experiences of my stay! Everybody was able to stand and ride some waves in the end. 100% recommendation! :) They also take pictures that are for sale afterwards. Very good quality and the price is completely fair considering there needs to be someone only taking pictures and filming most of the time. There were turtles around, too. 😍

  This was the best individual experience of our two week vacation. I brought two of my daughters, 13 and 17, today. It was a wonderful experience. Our instructor Mari was top-notch. She was very informative and encouraging. The girls took to surfing immediately. I was not as quick to catch on. Mari and Mito each gave me tips, which led to my success in standing on the board and riding waves in. Mito took photos and videos of each of us, which will be treasured memories. We felt very safe and well taken care of. Quyanaqpuq! (Thank you very much in our Inupiaq language)

  My 6 year old twin girls had a tremendous first surfing experience with Surf Girl Academy! Mito took care of us. She made sure my girls had wetsuits, water shoes and that they each their own tandem instructors. I was able to be out there with them as well as Mito taught, guided and pushed me well to catch many waves during our 2 hr session. Thank you so much!!!

  Incredible experience! Would most definitely recommend! Mito is not only an incredible instructor but extremely generous and helpful through the entire thing. Beginning with detailed instructions on exactly where to meet her. She was so helpful with my two young twins, helping them get dressed and making sure they had a blast. The instructors worked with both my girls and they were able to get out and surf and even stand up for 2 hours. It was an experience that they will never forget. Thank you so much for the wonderful day!!

  My first time surfing - and I managed to stand up on a few waves! The instructor was patient and encouraging. I liked that we started in the water with the instructor holding the board as we practiced standing up, as a few other surf lessons I saw going on around the beach had people practicing in the sand which I don't think is as helpful. I also liked that the meetup point is at a spot with fewer beachgoers and mostly just other surfers. I appreciated the option to purchase photos and video at the end at a reasonable price. Would go again and recommend to anyone looking for a beginner surf lesson.

  We’ve gone to surfer girl two times now (the first one a year ago) and loved it both times! Those were the only two times we’ve ever been surfing and they made us super confident in the water - so much so that my fiancé and I plan to buy a board and start trying to surf ourselves. We brought another family member this time who had a private lesson while we did the partner one. He also had a great time and really appreciated all the help paddling. He is not a good swimmer and said he felt safe and confident during the lesson. Overall we learned basics of how to stand on the board and were all able to get up multiple times! The instructors are very friendly as well and they take photos and videos that you can purchase afterward for $45/person. I would recommend.

  We had a fantastic time. As a group of five, none of us had surfed before and felt we wouldn't be able to stand up. Well we were sorely mistaken. All five of us were able to stand up and had a fantastic time doing it. Highly recommend Mito and her company!
