Tried several surfing schools in Oahu and Maui, Surfer Girl Academy was undoubtedly the BEST!! Yuka was my instructor. She was patient and crystal clear on her instructions. I have learnt a lot from her. It was one of my best surfing experiences/ highlight of my trip! Will def book again when I visit Honolulu next time!
We had the most amazing experience with Surfer Girl Academy. It was my favorite activity while we were in Oahu. They made the experience so memorable and fun. They provided everything and with their guidance we picked up surfing pretty quickly.
Had a wonderful time learning to surf as a first timer. The instructors were nice, prepared, and timely. We felt very supported through out our experience, would 110% do it again.

My girlfriend and I went for our first time surfing. We were terrified at first by what we perceived as a sketchy white van in the middle of a parking lot, but are glad to say that Mito, our surfing instructor, was incredibly informative and sweet. Eased our first time tensions, amazing experience.
Yuko and Surfer Girl Academy was amazing! They provide rash guards and surf shoes, and even swim shorts if you want them. You can store your bag in their awesome surf van while you're on the water too! Yuko gives great instructions that are super clear and easy to follow. Can't wait to come back and bring my friends!

AMAZING!! I loved Surfer Girl, it was one of my most memorable experiences while visiting Honolulu, if I could give them more than five stars I would! The staff were professional, helpful and very kind! They made me feel very comfortable and included and taught me all the basics of surfing! They pushed me out of my comfort zone while still making sure I felt safe. It was an amazing experience and I would absolutely reccomend this academy to anyone!! You don't have to be at a certain skill level, they are very versatile and have high-quality surfboards and wetsuits for you to borrow! Thank you so much to the staff for an amazing experience!
This is a must do experience if you’re in Oahu! It’s a family owned business and they are all such wonderful people! They go above and beyond to make sure have a great time and get up on the waves :-) ! Adults , kids or both together this is the way to do it! We did all the attractions on the island and this was our favourite! You will not be disappointed !!
Mito and Shuji are the best! They are professional, patient, friendly, and accommodating. My boys (16 and 18) had a great time learning how to surf the first time. Safe and fun! Highly recommended.
Had a great experience. Our instructor was very supportive of our small class, had a solid teaching style and cheered us on when we stood up! Really appreciated the enthusiasm and actually learning what to look for when catching a wave.
Amazing first-time surfing experience. Wow, I can't believe how fun this was; I wish I would have done this when I first got to Hawaii because I would have spent the rest of the time surfing.
I got to the meeting point via biki, and they allowed me to store my backpack in their surf van; very cool. At the beginning in a secluded section of the nearby marina, there was a short but very effective lesson on the basics: how to position yourself, how to stand up, and stay on the board, etc.
The rest of the time was spent in the water surfing! Yuko was a machine and showed no signs of fatigue. A true ambassador of the sport, She put in an incredible amount of work watching the swells and then pushing myself and the other beginners off to maximize every wave. An unforgettable experience and worth every penny. Will book with Surfer Girl Academy again. Well done and どもありがとうございます。
I am from Missouri and had no idea how surfing was going to go. The instructors went over tips and tricks in calm shallow water before taking us out to the waves. The entire time they were very encouraging and paid a lot of attention to make sure everyone in our group was safe. They were so friendly and even took a photo for us! Even better we were both able to get up and catch the waves
