  An excellent choice!

  Peggy and David are wonderful hosts. The Sundog home itself is amazing. Relatively new, rooms are a great size, shower and bathroom were excellent. The breakfasts in the morning were amazing!! We are vegan/vegetarian, so we really appreciated the thought and care put into each meal. The grounds weren't something we were able to take advantage of, but they are beautiful!! Close to Shepherdstown, which is a very cute community. Check out Lost Dog Coffee!! All in all, this was an excellent choice for us!!

  Beautiful gardens and walking trails

  Sundogs is truly lovely and peaceful. There are so many places throughout the garden to sit and relax and just enjoy the view. The owners are friendly without being at all intrusive, and the breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Definitely recommend. If you are planning to bring your pup along, I do suggest reviewing the pet policy as it could affect what you are able to do in Shepherdstown.

  Lovely Getaway

  My husband and I stayed at Sundogs to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary and it was a fine experience. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast (which was carefully and mindfully prepared after consulting w me about my diabetic needs). The vibe was peaceful, the hummingbirds buzzing around the trumpet vines a delight, and the porch a grand place to relax. Goats, puppies, and a pair of outdoor cats added additional entertainment! It's a quick drive from here to Shepherdstown's fun shops and restaurants.

  Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet!

  Love it. Our 2nd visit. A beautiful property landscaped with soothing walking trails. Spacious rooms. Common areas are modern yet gracious. Love their vegan breakfast, even though I'm not vegan. Close to Shepherdstown events, but far enough from downtown so you feel immersed in nature.

  The perfect place to escape the city rat race

  Found this place at the last minute and it was the perfect place to escape the city rat race. Friendly, spacious and fabulous breakfast, family pets and accommodations.
  Highly recommend with or without your 4 legged friends, as they have several to pet and enjoy!

  Don’t Miss—This B&B is Great on All Fronts!

  When we visited overnight a year ago, I wrote a review promising that we would be back for a weekend because this inn was so nice. We just had that weekend at Sundogs B&B, and it was everything we had hoped for.
  
  The rooms are elegant & comfortable. We’ve stayed in Sunny & Gable rooms, but I bet they’re all nice. The hosts, Peggy & Dave, were hospitable & had helpful suggestions, but if you just want privacy & downtime, you can get that, as well. Our breakfasts have always been superb! We felt really pampered. The grounds also are beautifully landscaped, and had plenty of walking trails that I enjoyed each morning before breakfast.
  
  There are several quaint, small towns nearby to explore. Also, there is lots of biking, water sports, and hiking nearby. For outdoors enthusiasts, this inn could be a wonderful place to relax after an active day..
  
  We already are looking forward to a return when we need another chance to recharge our batteries.

  We love Sundogs!!!

  Sundogs is a beautiful oasis for humans and dogs alike! Clean, comfortable, and the gardens and setting are inspiring. David and Peggy are welcoming and attentive hosts who accomodated my special dietary requests. Looking forward to another stay in a couple of months. Update: since this first review we have stayed at Sundogs at least two more times. Each time the plant-based food has been a delight and the gardens and house still a calm and relaxing oasis. Special attention was given to my spouse's dietary needs. We love Sundogs!!!

  An enjoyable weekend getaway!

  We recently enjoyed a weekend getaway at Sundogs B&B in West Virginia, and it was an incredibly relaxing experience. The place was impeccably clean, and Peggy and Dave made us feel right at home. The location was perfect, with the charming town of Shepherdstown just a short distance away. We loved exploring the local shops and historic sites.   Fantastic Experience

  An excellent choice!

  My wife and I (and our English Setter, "Oreo") stayed at Sundogs Thursday-Saturday as we visited/hiked Antietam National Battlefield, the C&O Canal (Lock 38, mile 70.2), and a tour of the winery clusters. Sundogs was an excellent choice, the hosts pleasant and helpful, the meals (breakfasts) superb. Oreo was welcome everywhere, and had as good a time as us.

  Outstanding pet friendly B&B

  Peggy and David are wonderful hosts. We had sought out a dog friendly place to stay over St. Patrick's day weekend. This is a stunning property with beautiful grounds and a fenced in area for dogs. We didn't have time to hike the trails on the property but hope to next time we visit. We were very comfortable and spoiled by a delicious breakfast each morning.

  The B & B you have been looking for!

  We have been to many bed and breakfasts throughout the northeast. This might be the best. It has everything you can hope for in a B & B. Exceptional spacious rooms, comfortable bedding, fabulous breakfasts, and warm, friendly and welcoming hosts in David and Peggy. Peggy's impressive gardening resume is on full display everywhere you look from the 360 degree wrap around porch and room windows. We can't applaud Peggy and David enough. The place is smart perfectly constructed (2018) immaculate and secluded: but not too secluded. Unlike other places we have stayed, this place is completely as presented. We visited all the sights in the area but we could easily visit Sundogs and just enjoy the peace the place is about. Go there! In a world where so much falls short of expectation, Sundogs exceeds!

  Such an amazing stay!

  We had such an amazing stay! Peggy and David are fantastic hosts and have created a really special place. We had never stayed at a BnB before and we kept coming back to Sundogs. The property is gorgeous and well-maintained, and the rooms are comfortable, spacious, quiet, and clean. Breakfast was phenomenal every day and Peggy and David had great recommendations for things to do/places to eat in town. We are already planning on when to come back! Thank you so much for making our vacation so wonderful.

  highly recommend

  the proprietors at sundogs were extremely kind and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. they even made adjustments for my partner's gluten-free diet that he really enjoyed. the bed was incredibly comfortable, the house and grounds are gorgeous. we hope to return for a longer stay so we can take a much longer hike on the trails than we were able this time.
